Orange Dolphin 25 Tarriff (£25 per Month)
300 Anytime Minutes,
Unltd Texts
500mb Internet
£39.99 Handset but £50 Cashback on Quidco

I have been searching for days to get this phone in my budget with Unltd texts...I have now found it!
Orange cant even pricematch this (cheapest they will do is £35 and they have no stock)
They have guaranteed Nextday delivery.
Also they send out Unbranded/Unlocked phones as standard which is a bonus.
24 month contract (But that does seem to be standard more and more these days!)

I have just ordered one, I will be receiving it on Wednesday :D

(Just cancelled the HTC Desire Non Hd I did have on order for the same price via Orange!)

Should probably mention its an 24 month contract. Not for me then sorry.

What ever happened to 12 month contracts with free phones?!?!?!
#2
Thanks Morpheus, I have edited it :)

I went through e2save the other day, similar kind of deal but extra £2.50 per month and extra £10 for phone (with £4 less quidco) gets you an extra 500 minutes
ie 800 mins, unlimited texts, 500mb, £49.99 phone (£46 quidco back).
Also with Desire HD of course.

I wanted the Unltd Texts, 500 is not enough for me. I found a few at this price but with the 500 texts, this is the only Unlimited Texts at this price so far. The minutes are good though.

This is the Link for the T Mobile one, Although the Promotion is a bit unclear and it does not say whether it includes the Internet.

Being unlocked on a 2 year contract seems a little pointless, unless you know better.(_;)

A word of warning for y'all. I just got the original Desire direct from Tmobile telephone sales on an 18 month contract with 300 minutes, unlimited texts and 3 gig internet (30 quid a month if anyones curious).

I've had my phone since friday and i've used 240 megs. I know I have hammered it a little in terms on "apping up" my phone but i haven't been streaming music and only streamed a couple of youtube vids to see my phone in action.

my housemate's got this handset - its comedically huge !

it suits him perfectly as he was after something that combined both "phone" and "tablet".

NOTE : BATTERY LIFE MAJOR PROBLEM ON THE HTC FORUMS - make sure you buy a spare charger for car / work.

How much do you think this phone actually costs to manufacture?
The £470 RRP for PAYG is ridiculous.

Mobiles.co.uk also have the Panther 30, offering 400 minutes and unlimited texts and data for £30 a month, with 6 months of the 24 month contract free - works out slightly cheaper if you can be bothered with redemption. Phone is free with that too.

It's more about the development costs rather than the physical cost of manufacture.

Does it not have Wifi, and as I presume that it does, then are you saying that the 240mb you d/l was using 3G - that must've taken forever.

I suppose I'm asking whether your 3gb allowance also gets eaten up when you are using your own internet bandwidth at home (which I find ludicrous for any Company to charge you for when you've already paid for it to your ISP)

How could they possibly charge you for when you use your own wifi? That would be insane. The only time you get charged to use your own connection is when you use a vodafone suresignal.

with mobiles.co.uk make sure you cancel the insurance and gadget phone support. The gadget phone support kept charging me even though I canceled twice!

I need to do this, thanks for the reminder. Anyone know how to contact them? My paper details for the gadget phone support and the insurance are in another city at the moment.

i managed to get my hands on the handset about a week ago, my housemate has tried with three different companies and still hasn't got his one, it's proving very elusive...

the best way is go to your bank and cancel the direct debit from that insurance...... once it was canceled it's done. don't call any 08-------- number co'z it will cost you few quid. cut the the direct debit and it will cost you none. :)

if you forget and act quickly, just call your bank and plead ignorance of it. (billed as TMTI)
Under Direct Debit guarantee, they will cancel it and refund you.
The company TMTI are v cunning, setting up DD and immediately charging. So you cant cancel at bank v easily before they get the first payment.

What makes you say that? Curious to know.

My girlfriend got this a few weeks ago. The battery life gets better with time and gives a similar amout of running time (on lowest brightness) to my samsung galaxy s.

This is miles better than the desire (bigger screen, better processor, more ram, better touch screen...) but I would say is on pay with the galaxy s, they perform about equal, the galaxys screen looks nicer but text is clearer on the desire hd, the battery is better on the galaxy but gps is better on the desire. Both great phones and definately the best 2 androids to be considering right now. (saying that is the psp phone comes out I'll prob sell the galaxy and get one of them if it's any good)
#34
anyone seen any deals for the desire Z?
#35
Think i'll be going for the Nokia N8, the Desire HD looks massive.

...Ah, the good ol' days.
Suppose why would they give 12 month contracts and free phones when people are snapping up the 24 monthers
#37
To be fair the phones we used to get on 12 month contracts were a bit simpler and cheaper to produce, these new smartphones pack a lot of technology into them and mean networks will lock you in for longer.
#38
I blame 18/24 month contracts on iPhone... plain
