HTC Desire HD (Retentions) £325.00 @ Orange

Not for everyone, and probably not available to everyone. I've been on a bulk standard contract for 18 months with Orange - looking to upgrade and looking to upgrade to an HTC Desire.

After stock problems and nothing doing on the discount front for the last couple of months on Sunday (I was requesting a PAC) they seem to have changed the discount tarrif.

The offer was an 18 month contract (tick), 400x-net mins, 300 txts, unlimited LL and 500mb Unlimited data* at £17.50 per month. There was an option of paying £10 for the phone upfront or and extra £2.50 P/M and no charge, I took the £10 option. (no additional charge for the standard Desire btw).

That's £325 for 18 months.

*Unlimited on this plans sort of means unlimited, ie if you go over for 4 consequitive months you'd have a warning letter. I was wary due to the data limit and was going to jump ship to T-Mobile (Orange by another name now anyway) so asked lots of qs.

Not everyone will be offered this, but if you've been paying £30 a month and you're up for renewal there's a good chance. I'm not a heavy user and never go over my inclusive allowances.

user specific deal really should have been under misc rather than deals
#2
as above, only applies to you! will be different for others based on their usage, line rental etc!

Hey I've specified my fairly standard usage of a standard package to date - the point was that the retention deals have just changed. Prior to this I've only been offered £30 packages for 24 months.
I hope someone else can push for a similar package is all.

think people have been a bit harsh here .... bloody hell

..and there was me hoping to help someone get a comparable retentions deal...not a virtual slap on the wrists!

Hi Sybarite
Been on the phone earlier and didnt see this post until after and the deal they offered me (also just off an 18month £30 contract) - otherwise it would have helped.
Just checking that this was a Desire HD since you only mention HD in the title and not elsewhere in the body of your message.

Seems like a good deal - I'll give it a go with a follow up call perhaps asking for the PAC.

Thanks

Yep a Desire HD, it's supposed to come in about a week - I was a bit shocked TBH, I expected to pay at least £100 for the HD handset. I also tried to get an additional handset deal on this deal for my OH but no go. The guy at Orange actually told me it would be cheaper to get a 'new' contract through one of the resellers. He also stated some deparments had deeper discount pockets than ofthers.

Finger's crossed. If you want to be able to say you been recommended the deal 'by a friend' just PM me and I'll supply my contact number for you to quote.

Seems like a good deal - I'll give it a go with a follow up call perhaps asking for the PAC.
