Not for everyone, and probably not available to everyone. I've been on a bulk standard contract for 18 months with Orange - looking to upgrade and looking to upgrade to an HTC Desire.
After stock problems and nothing doing on the discount front for the last couple of months on Sunday (I was requesting a PAC) they seem to have changed the discount tarrif.
The offer was an 18 month contract (tick), 400x-net mins, 300 txts, unlimited LL and 500mb Unlimited data* at £17.50 per month. There was an option of paying £10 for the phone upfront or and extra £2.50 P/M and no charge, I took the £10 option. (no additional charge for the standard Desire btw).
That's £325 for 18 months.
*Unlimited on this plans sort of means unlimited, ie if you go over for 4 consequitive months you'd have a warning letter. I was wary due to the data limit and was going to jump ship to T-Mobile (Orange by another name now anyway) so asked lots of qs.
Not everyone will be offered this, but if you've been paying £30 a month and you're up for renewal there's a good chance. I'm not a heavy user and never go over my inclusive allowances.
