Some of the members on here montioned you can downgrade the tarriff with o2 aftre 9 months to £15 an extra saving of £5.50X9= £49.50 making the phone £126 only!!!

guys if u r going to vote cold please say where u can get this cheaper or even this cheap
#2
you have to pay £20.50/ month. Discount is by redemption
#3
well firstly its a redemption offer so not guaranteed...secondly there is not data so whats the point in a smart phone with no data allowance..thirdly quidco is also not guaranteed....so its a cold for me!!
2 Likes #4
by redemption still means u get your money back, which means u end up paying the price above, if you cant be bothered to send the redmption form then thats your choice but you cant shoot the deal down just cause you have to send a form to get the money back.
#5
Put 'by redemption' in title!

i ve used quidco for 3 years and they never failed once. Almost every deal on here involves quidco or top cash back. the idea of this deal is not to get data or minutes or even texts, its simply to get this phoen for this price. do you know anywhere one can buy this phone for any price remotely close to this? Yet you also want data and minutes on top.
#7
we can shoot what ever we feel like shooting, so please dont tell us what we can and cant do. If you cant take the feedback then get back in your box and dont post the deals...if i feel its cold then i will vote cold and im sure people will vote cold without saying why...its their choice not yours.

well the idea is that we are all on here for the same reason, that is to help each other find good deals against corporate rip off companies and its disheartening when one makes an effort and people illogically vote cold. The neartest i found this phone for was over 250 quid, so even if quidco didnt pay, even if you miss one of the redemptions, you still quids in, so i am a little confused into how this is cold.

this deal has been posted before. i'm very happy with my desire, thank you.

also there is the option to drop the monthly payments after 9 months to £15. i've put reminders in my phone for when to send of the bills to get the redemption cashback. shouldn't be a problem as you get 2 months to do it.
#10
option to drop monthly payments after 9 months to 15? if thats true thats excellent, means the phone works out even cheaper by a further 45 quid, means the phone works out at 130, is that right?

225.54

That is the price not 175.54 Quidco is never guaranteed and therefore deal = cold and expired.
#15
quidco has always paid for me, and for folks on this site, moreover the deal clearly states the price before quidco and after quidco and cashback, you cant expire a deal thats valid. As for cold, even at 225.54, thats by far the cheapest in the market, can you get a htc desire at this price?

is it me or this site been taken over by weird folks

by the way, if u look at most deals on here, they take into account quidco.
#17
By the way, no they don't. Stated price should not include quidco. It's the rules.

With people going out of their way to be rude, critical and unpleasant I'm surprised people bother giving up their time to share deals at all. Of course, you are free to say whatever you like, just as I'm free to tell you that if you can't be a little more positive in your criticism, then its probably best to keep your mouth shut.
#19
Cold, for the deal justifying spam alone.

It's kinda pathetic!!!
#20
You need to remove the quidco from the total. It's not guaranteed so cannot be included!
#21
And change the price to inlcude a smartphone tarrif for the smartphone being offered!.

Waste of a post if you ask me.

Oh whine whine flipping moan.

I don't see how that comment is rude or unpleasant in the slightest. OP asked for reasons from cold voters, and Rob585 was courteous enough to spend his time explaining why. The real offputting factor on this website is criticism police like yourself.

I miss the days when the internet was £30 a month and a computer £1500. A lot more tolerant people and deals were deals that most of us took one of and not 10 to sell on ebay.
#24
I feel so sorry for the people bothering to post deals on here just to be slated by pathetic people with nothing better to do.
Keep up the good work op, because the people who actually do have a brain can see this is a good deal.

I feel so sorry for the people bothering to post deals on here just to have them voted cold without explanation because a bunch of pathetic sycophants jump on any piece of criticism like somebody's just walked in wearing a klan uniform, the only effect being cold voters stop explaining themselves. Ok, I see both sides of the argument here - we need criticism and reasons for cold votes, but we also need the criticism to be constructive. The OP wasn't paid to post this, it was done out of a desire to help others.

From the deals I have posted, it seems there are a minority of people that get off on criticising other people's deals unfairly and harshly. I doubt I'll post any more deals on this site because I just can't be bothered defending myself from the inevitable attacks. I'm sorry if you are not one of those people.

this is a tarriff to get a phone cheap not a data tarriff or even tariff, you can bin the sim or do whatever youlike with it, its simply a way to get the phone cheap.

thanku mate, this is what amazes me when people keep slating the deal cause it doesnt have data or whatever, the idea is simply getting the phone cheap, yet no one seems able to grasp that, quidco has never failed for me in 3 years yet people going otu of their way to shoot it down.

I went with this deal a few months ago which means this is just a regular deal which has been around for months.

I received the Quidco payback by the way.

people, so this doesnt turn up into an emotional exchange of lines, we are all on here cause we want to help each other nail some good deals against everyday rip off britain/corporate companies making mega margins on commissions. No one is getting paid to take time and share deals, simply trying to help each other out.

Cold voters, you have every right to vote cold, but i ld suggest you vote cold if you can provide a place where one can get the phone anywhere near this price. The cheapest this phone is on payg for about 250-260 upfront cash.

with this deal even if quidco failed (which it never has for anyone i know) the phone will still be cheaper at only 225. Also this is a way where you can pay monthly rather than all the cash upfront. and finally like in my case my mum only needs a minimum amount of mins and texts, she normally pays £8 with her provider, so i ll give her this sim (100 mins 500 texts) so she saves 8 pounds * 18 months, i get the phone mega cheap, almost free if i take the money she saves by using this sim card, and i dont have to pay for the phone upfront.

it is a cheap deal, yes i understand its hassle going to the post office to send your bill for the cashback, but for those who are prepared to do it its a good deal.

This is a really good price for the phone and hot from me, but redemption is a hassle (IMHO) + lack of data allowance seems bizarre as really most people would use at least some data on a phone like this. Whilst I have the HTC Desire I would still consider getting a San Fran instead as it is as much of a smart phone as I (am probably many other people as well ) need for now and it is cheap (plus there are some great sim only and payg tarrifs out there).

I do think we need to be more considerate in criticisms. Points like not including Quidco in final price are correct but we should not be rude about pointing this out. A good forum (of which this site is a form of one) is best when people take a couple of minutes before ranting or raving.

On the other side of the coin, OPs need to be a little less protective of deals, well all appreciate the effort to post and there is in my view no doubt that disproportional cold voting puts people off posting deals, but getting annoyed at this doesn't do much except probably encourage more cold votes.

whilst this is a good deal i would still rather pay £240 up front and get one from phones 4 u and sort out a sim only deal, and if i could find someone with an orange or o2 payg sim it would be £230, even though it works out slightly more expensive you don't need to mess around with any redemptions or cashback.
i know on their website the desire is £270 + £10 top up but i was in my local store yesterday and it was still advertised at £230 and the sales person confirmed this as well
#38
but its only 230 if you have an orange existing sim?

18 sodding months, and you have to virtually pay most of the cost of the phone ?oO

To the OP, I appreciate any deal you take the time to post. Even if someone finds it cheaper elsewhere in the comments, it still means I get a cheaper deal by reading the comments. Without the original deal posted I wouldn't have that.

I also agree people can vote cold for whatever reason they like, the net is too wild to expect anything else. I do live in hope that constructive comments will win out over idiot/troll replies but again, it's the wild net out here and trolls are really to be expected.

I will say I've used quidco a few times and it never tracked any of my deals. They were expensive items too and I wasn't happy. Haven't used quidco since but I envy others who get so much out of it.

And finally, for anyone that can't be arsed to try quidco and redemptions, vouchers and any other ways of saving money. What the flip are you doing on a site like this? Just order from a catalogue like the legion of muppets and pay through the nose for the convenience of not having to grab your deals where you can.
