hot, want, may buy from this deal.

edit: stock due soon.

edit II: As the OP said, if you have better deals post below because I am looking to spend about £450 on this phone for contract period or SIM free, but that's including data. I'll use more than £40 data per year but being contract free is always worth a few extra pennies.

About a year ago the HTC Hero was about this price. now the hero is around £280-£300. Thats only a £130 drop and its only just started. I doubt they'll be many £400 ones for the next six months as most places seem around £450. I maybe wrong tho.

If you were going to spend this much on a phone, why wouldn't you get an iPhone with the wealth of apps on it ?

I would agree that the interface is probably a lot better on the Android phones, but the iphone has substantially better app support.

Because I want a keyboard this time + I am a anti-apple snob, I want to root my phone to, I trust google more than I do apple (although they both walk very fine lines)

I have every App I could want on my Android phone.
I had Turn by Turn navigation on my G1 months before such apps were allowed in App Store.
The only thing iPhone has that I want on my Android is Peggle, but I can take it or leave it now that Angry Birds is out on Android (and its FREE)

It's not all about apps though..lack of widget support lets down IOS. Why bother opening apps all the time when you can have a widget onscreen telling you the info you want instantly...

Also I wouldn't call the 100k+ apps available for Android an issue...

I also haven't found anything that i need for Android that there isn't an app or widget for.... and thanks to the 'Tasker' app i have my Desire doing stuff that no amount of apps will see an iPhone doing..

Do you know anything about the apps for the android phone?
When I bought my Hero about 6 months ago I was told about the lack of apps but I went to the Android market and I'll be blown.......... hundreds of apps for free

try combining this £410 phone
with http://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/t-mobile-sim-only-12-months-600mins/754103

It would be £70 cheaper over 24 months plus you wouldn't be locked in for 24 months.
You'd also get the 3GB FUP WnW+ instead of the 1GB from an outside company.

I cant believe how cold this is getting with it being at HOT at play.com for £20 more.

Yeah, my girlfriends 1st Android phone was the Hero she bought about this time last year when her Blackberry died.
She's rocking a Motorola Milestone now and it makes me realise how much I want a physical keyboard, deciding what to do Milestone, Desire Z or see what the Dell Smoke is going to be like (around March).

This should be hotter but guessing cold cus stock due soon rather than in.

spruceyb - if I was you, I'd choose to get Desire Z and see what is around in 6 months (March is a long time in Smartphone world) as the Z should still be hot phone then so you can still get a good resale. Do this every 6 months and as long as you choose your original deals carefully, you always have one of the latest phones.

I say this because its exactly what I plan to do :-)

I'm in the keyboard camp too :) The keyboard on the Z looks far better than that on the Milestone though. I'm looking forward to actually trying it out.
