Got the Dial A Phone deal already posted on a 12 month contract with Vodaphone for 12 x £43.22 = £518.64 minus £50 Quidco which has alread tracked making it £468.64.

Granted you only get 300 mins but still a better deal IMHO.
See Quidco has dropped to £35 now.

I've had one of these for 2 weeks now - but it's gone back in the drawer as the IPhone 3GS is still my favourite.

Read many reviews on each. Both have good and bad points, I need the Office Apps for my job. Horses for courses I guess.

Great phone and decent price, unfortunately its on a shambles network.

Not really a fair comment, I would agree is you said that 3 was a shambles network but I would stand up to be counted in saying that Orange are as comparable as Vodafone

Do you get the upgrade to Windows Mobile 7 when it eventually comes out?

So, let's be clear here. You need to establish if the handset is ROM locked by the carrier (I don't mean SIM locked) - in the event that HTC release a new rom, if you handset is ROM locked you WILL NOT be able to install the updated ROM.

This is true of the handsets being shipped by Voda; I have no knowledge on other carriers. You can very easily find out without opening the box by reading the handset serial number off the side of the box and then entering that into the HTC ROM download page - if you strike out then you're limited to voiding the warranty with a cooked ROM loader.

Back to your original question - I know that Voda will be shipping Windows Mobile 7 but when I have no idea, it won't be day 1 of release. You can always grab the official Windows Mobile 7 ROM from the web and install it but as stated before you may void your warranty.

Hope this helps explain the situation.

So based on what you say, if i check that my HTC HD2 is capable of receiving the rom update and it isn't, even if i did not open the box. It will void the warranty?
