cold..

24 month contract

500mb of data on these kind of phones is rubbish
#4
Not sure why cold? Do people reject the idea of paying an initial up front cost for the phone even though it's far cheaper over the life of the contract?

I went for a similar deal (in fact almost identical for a tenner more) a month or so ago. At that time any 'free' phone deals ended up being over £100 more expensive over 24 months...

LOVE the phone btw. A bit geeky but I really like shopsavvy. When I think I've seen a bargain while out shopping, whip out the hero, line it up on the bar code and it goes and fetches online prices for the same item. A perfect mix of geek and skinflint!

I agree the 500mb might be a problem - but the contract is unfortunately becoming standard.

In some ways, this is a better phone than the iPhone.

Agree with the amount of data not being great but for £20 per month for this handset it isn't a bad deal, even if this is a long contract. Gotta give this a bit of heat.

Is it? I've only had it a month, but I hammered it that month, browsing, twitter, email, facebook away from my home & work wifi. I used 164Mb... So unless you're streaming videos or downloading a ton of aps away from a friendly wifi I'd think it hard to go much above the 500MB

Orange also let you check your usage, so you can keep an eye on it if you are concerned
#8
Would suggest this is a genuinely great deal for those looking for 600min etc & comfortable with both the 24m term and contributing to handset cost.
Can't find anything to compete.
Hot.

The thing is, in a year's time you could find that you are downloading larger file size's! I've got this phone and was watching F1 Live through BBC iplayer on the beach! I've certainly not gone over my limit and if you are going to download tons of aps or stream video, you'd have to be mad to do that whilst your out unless your using wi-fi apart from the odd occasion!

The s2save version of this deal works out at £29.99 cheaper and you do not have to put any monies upfront.
Both are Car Phone Warehouse companies.

Yes, That is true, but you dont get 500MB data. This will cost another £7.5 a month, which will make your deal far more expensive than this post.

Also with quidco the monthly cost in this deal is only £22.05 and without quidco £23.70. I could not find a cheaper alternative for this phone elsewhere.

In my opinion smartphone without data is useless.

I could not find any e2save deals with data. It would be helpful if you could provide the link.
Thanks

People vote cold for all manner of stupid reasons on this forum.

If people dont like the phone, they vote cold. These people are idiots.

If they dont like the contract length, they vote cold. These people are idiots.

The only way you should vote cold on anything, is if you know its cheaper somewhere else. Thats the rule. Not because you dont like the product. You can have your say by posting your opinion, but if its the cheapest price why stop someone else from knowing just because you dont like it.

I have voted Hot as its very cheap for what your getting regardless of contract length etc.

I'll vote hot if it's a good deal to ME, and cold if it's not a good deal to ME!!! Other people's reasons may differ to mine/yours but that doesn't make them idiots. Why do you have to be abusive over such a minor thing? Even the OP is cool about it. :whistling:

Good spot. I never opened the link to read whether they provide data... My fault...
Only thing bad is that you come to that price by 12 Months ½ Price by redemption by sending them the bills.

I got mine as a sim free upgrade through mobiles.co.uk for free, with autocash back and quidco instead of paying for a locked Hero from orange direct!!

i was offered this free on orange as an upgrade a few weeks ago, i was not sure 500 would be enough so they upgraded it to 1meg,
400mins
unlimited txts
1meg data
= £25 pm 18months

they said it was a one time deal and i wouldnt get the chance again,
i just called to take the deal and they said it had expired after 15 days :?
he said the same deal but only 500mb of data for the same £25 i said give me 1meg and i will take it, no chance he said the longer i leave it the more expensive the deals will be thats why he cant match the previous deal, Orange sucks,

orange say 500mb unlimited internet, hardly unlimited if you get carged if you go over 500mb
