The O2 Refresh method, the HTC One M8 Metal Grey Refurb is available for £240 and it's back in stock. As usual, you pick the £38 per month tarrif which is £10 per month for the phone and £28 per month for the airtime. You cancel the airtime and pay the phone off.

You can cancel the Airtime Plan after the 14 day cooling period and pay off the Phone Plan contract. Once cancelled, you pay off the Airtime Plan used, which if cancelled on the 15th day should amount to about £14 (£28pm/2wks). Total cost = £254.
- Chris4

Furthermore, someone in the similar LG G3 on O2 Refresh thread said as soon as they received the phone, they paid off the Phone Plan (£240) and then cancelled the Airtime Plan only within the cooling period, thus not calculating any airtime cost.

also selling contract time?

Ordered. So when do I cancel the airtime?
I'm assuming I'll have to pay the first month atleast. And then would you have to pay off the phone at once?

Yes then payoff the phone balance. You can then cancel the airtime balance at any point.

Got this for my wife and the tariff was slightly different, we paid £60 upfront and then only £23 a month, bargain really - great phone, she loves it.

They come in stock in dribs and drabs. No point posting this afresh every time they do.

Got my G3 refurb on Monday. Requested unlock code via online chat on Saturday. Got the code on Tuesday. Phone unlocked - rang - paid for the phone device £192 and contract cancelled.

The phone do not come in original box. Only had a phone and usb. But condition of the phone was NEW - Not a single mark on it.

What if I want to cancel the monthly airtime but carry on paying for the phone monthly.
Or do I have to pay it off all at once?

Could get on vodafone pay as go with £10 credit for £299 brand new, if Willing to spend £60 more for brand new phone and avoiding hassle of cancelling.

O2 tried to charge me £508 for early termination of the airtime. A phone call rectified this but it was an unpleasant surprise at the time so be sure to monitor your email! Phone is superb BTW

mbnaeem, No you cannot cancel monthly airtime without paying for the device. On MSE someone also said O2 bill showed termination charges. So I will wait for my next bill and see what happens.

using the device GPS only and it still works but just took MUCH longer. and the Mic doesn't seem to work on the voice recorder app. it works on the camera app but seems to be too quiet with slight high pitch buzzing noise. ahh the joys of getting a refurb phone

Ordered - thank you. My boy wanted this and was going to buy on Pay and go which is a lot more expensive!

How quickly can I cancel the airtime?

I just spoke with their customer support on chat. You can cancel after 14 days. Before that, it would be within the 'cooling period' and that would cancel the Phone Plan too. This means that you'll need to pay the 14 days of the Airtime Plan you've used, which in this case would calculate to around £14 (£28 Airtime Plan / 2 weeks).

Total cost = £254

Keep in mind within that 14 day period you'll have unlimited calls, texts and 10GB of 4G data to play with :-p

Edit: In the similar thread for LG G3, a commenter said they received the phone, called up and paid off the Phone Plan, then afterwards, on the same call, cancelled the Airtime Plan within the cooling off period, thus only paying the price of the phone. Worth a try!

Same with me. They actually took the £508 out of my account. It took about 6 weeks to get it back, no apology or explanation, other than "You should have cancelled your direct debit". Never again.
Nice phone at a nice price, but not worth the hassle IMHO.

Same problem here - £560.25. I noticed it on monthly bill and told them, still got charged. Spoke with them again, said it will be refunded within 5-10 days. I'm on the 6th at the moment. If I get it back soon I'd say it was worth it. Price is well below anywhere else.
#37
surely you need to cancel WITHIN the 14 day period, else you become bound to the contract plan.
