Free HTC Touch HD

Best price for this phone that I can find.

The HTC Touch HD sets a precedent in terms of screen size and quality as it comes with a huge 3.8 in WVGA Touchscreen that could boast as being the best on the market. Browsing is taken to a new level with the Touch HDs 800 pixel widescreen that can handle most web pages without having to scale them down.

Touch screen

5 Megapixel Digital Camera

GPS (Global Positioning System) enabled

GPRS technology

EDGE Technology
With such highly advanced technological devices camera specification is often compromised, not so with the HTC Touch HD. Incorporating a fantastic 5 megapixel camera with autofocus and secondary VGA video camera the HTC Touch HD is streets ahead in this particular department when compared to other Windows based mobile handsets.

Other notable features include WiFi connectivity, Pocket Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, PDF viewer and OneNote), EDGE, HSDPA and GPS Receiver. Supported by Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional the Windows experience is made all the more easier through the HTCs TouchFlo 3D finger swipe navigation, all of which ensures that the HTC Touch HD will no doubt provide the iPhone with some stiff competition.

Why cold folks? this is a great phone and a great tarif (tempted myself but not too sure about Orange) I am looking for a deal with a data package too.

Please note this deal includes the handset with no initial charge. I've been looking at paying 80-100 quid on this kind of tariff.

Good spot and voted hot.

Same free handset at Beepy with £40 quidco, and the same Dolphin 30 (£29.35 a month) with £5 upfront cashback.

Mudds - they also have Panther 45 (£44.04) - 1200mins, 500txt, unlimited data + Nintendo DS and £15 upfront cashback (+£40 quidco), on 18 months.

Whole batch of deals here: http://www.beepy.co.uk/handsets/htc-touch-hd-black/

£20 R-A-F scheme too.

My N85 deal at Beepy has been successfully processed today, and quidco was virtually immediate.

By the way are the orange handsets branded? Not too keen on seeing brands on the front of phones...
#7
Usually something on the rear. On the Nokia's it's often the battery cover, which can of course be easily replaced.

I got the orange one first... (had to pay £45 a month to get the 250mb data plan) and the SW was unbranded but it had an orange square on the back...returned it cause google maps caned the internet

if you order from mobiles.co.uk since they are a part of CPWH they come unbranded and unlocked.. and you get £40 quidco.

I went for the £35 o2 package with text bolt on... then you ring em up when you get the phone and they will change the bolt on to unlimited internet. you get 5months free line rental too.

600 mins, 500 txts and unlimited internet.. after cashback and quidco you are looking at around £28 a month and its o2 so better reception.

bare in mind that cashback is not guaranteed....it should be seen as a bonus!

hi as of i know o2 don't change the unlimited bolt on's how you managed to get that...? when my friend asked to change the bolt on for his nokia n95 they told it is not possible to change the bolt on...

In the mobiles.co.uk website they say it as 5 months 1/2 price line rental but you quoted it as 5 months free line rental...how you managed that..?
#11
Guys, Im hopelessly ignorant about mobile phone packages (my brother pays my mobile bill).

Going to the deal, I cannot find any specifications on what the package contains... what the heck is 'magic number'? Can I change the landline calls to mobile internet? If not, how do I get mobile internet?

Thanks for your help.

sorry 5months half price (i didn't double check as you dont get cashback till month 6 or something)... I just called up and they said "we can't do this" and i literally said "why not?" and then she goes "let me ask someone else" was on hold for two mins then she goes it will update in 2days...somepeople on the net said they had to call like three times but i got it first time. Just do it as soon as you get the phone...?

Just call Orange CS and ask for the 500MB data bundle, it's a fiver a month.

i quite like htc phones i got the touch diamond (02 branded) for free on £20 a month 600 minutes 1000 texts and unlimited data as i didnt want to pay £160 plus £35 a month for the 3g iphone

I am in the end of last 2 months of contract and i contacted orange for upgrade with this phone for £35 a month and 18 month contract they just quoted me i need to pay 249 because it is 299 normally but they are very generous to me and offering £50 discount.

I hated the deal and i tried to upgrade the contract online when i try to order as a new customer the phone is showing in stock and when i try upgrading the phone is showing no stock... so not thinking to stay with orange any more...

I can get 30% discount from o2 so i am thinking about iphone and the htc touch hd....if i am taking the iphone i am thinking about £45 contract so i'll be paying around £40 on total with upfront £57 and Insurance...and can get unlimited data...so this is an option...

other option is htc touch hd from orange or mobiles.co.uk and taking unlimited (is it really unlimited?) data for £7.50 i think orange gives around 500mb data then reduce your speed of data...and insurance (I can't afford to pay for a phone if i loose it and normally my phone keeps on falling on floor so it's worth in my case) so £30+£7.50+£7.50 totally 45 and i can't do with the 8gb card as i like to watch movies on the phone so 16 gig card approx £40 so around £47.50 month with 600 minutes+500 texts....

.
i am seriously considering to take another contract...any advise is welcome..

Imran,

That seems a great deal from O2. I have gone to the Mobiles website but don't see anything about the Text Bolt on.

Be careful with the the 'unlimited' internet from O2. They may not limit how much you use, but they do have rules regarding how you use it. Streaming audio or video over the web isn't allowed according to their terms so forget Internet radio or possibly even YouTube.

you see the o2 600 package? the unlimited text is a bolt on... if you change it to unlimited internet the text allowance goes down to the original for that tarrif which is 500 a month!

mate this is the first phone/tarrif combo that i have been truely happy paying for!

Ashok,

How much are your bills each month? I was on phone to Orange tonight as my sisters phone contract is up in 2 months too. I was offered this handset for £48, 1000 mins and unlimited text for £25/month.

Then again she has had a £140 roaming bill and usually goes £5-10 over each month so must be classed a good cust to keep!

i normally pay something around £35 (18 month contract) each month and i never paid more than £40 and i got another phone from orange and totally my bills will be around £65 each month...

i think you are gone for 24 month contract....which i don't like i like 12 month contract or max 18 month contract...so i can change my phone when new one is out...

You may not use your SIM Card in any other device or use your SIM Card or iPhone to allow the continuous streaming of any audio / video content, enable P2P or file sharing or use them in such a way that adversely impacts the service to other O2 customers. If O2 reasonably suspect you are not acting in accordance with this policy O2 reserves the right to impose further charges or disconnect your tariff at any time, having attempted to contact you first.

It depends what "continuous" means I guess. If it means solidly for a month I guess you're OK ;)
#24
Ashok, this was a 18 month contract. I wanted 12 month but deals weren't as good.

thanks for the info....i am going to call them tomorrow... if they say no i am going to say bye to them....

so they offered 1000 minutes and unlimited texts £25 and 18 months... for me 800 minutes is normally enough.... and 100 texts will be fine... so tomorrow i'll decide....if they ask me huge amounts to pay then i am saying bye...

by the way have you got any reference or any perticular number you called...?

cool man... i mean i use my internet like a normal person... don't really think about restrictions but i dont download for the sake of it either... ie i put songs on my phone as mp3s rather than streamin off youtube.... i put core player on there and it works well with films!

oh tomtom works great too but haven't worked out how to get pedestrian routes yet... google maps has pedestrian routes though!

I'm thinking about getting this on a 2 year contract with Orange Dolphin 25.

Can you get an upgrade after 12/18 months?

imran, can I just check with you, does the HTC Touch HD Black have GPS? I have a HTC phone, cannot remember which one it is but its Orange badged as a SPV M600. I have Tom Tom on the phone but I have to use a Bluetooth GPS thing to use the phone as a Sat Nav. Are you saying the HTC Touch HD Black has built-in GPS? Its just that I cannot see any mention of GPS on this link. http://www.beepy.co.uk/handsets/htc-touch-hd-black/
