i am dying to get this phone. may just go for it...

Looks like a great handset, the diamond 2 is a similar price on a 12 month contract but this phone just has it all.
#3
horrendous layout i could be biast though as i am an iphone owner
#4
which provider? not cheaper to go direct and get quidco?
#5
I've been anxiously waiting for this phone to come to the market. I still have an O2 contract for another 3 months or so... hopefully it comes out on O2 soon! but if not this is a great deal! Heat added.

My T-Mobile account has been out of contract for a few months and I too await this handset eagerly. It will be a well featured device but I will miss the D-Pad as I like to just sit and scroll around emails and websites using the buttons but will need to have an accurate finger or use the pointer pen.

I wasn't aware this has been released yet so I take it this is on pre-order?
#7
The page says "THIS IS THE FIRST BATCH IN THE UK - PLEASE ALLOW 5 DAYS FOR DELIVERY."

So must be shipping soon :)

How does this phone compare with HTC TyTn II ? (I have that one.)

btw, cheapest price on the link seems to be £39 though?

I had a Tytn 2 changed to a HTC Touch Diamond which was much better (apart from poor battery life) This however has a much bigger battery and screen so Id say this is far superior to the tytn 2 providing you can live w/o a keypad
#13
The Touch Pro 2 differs to the Tytn II by way of the larger screen, larger and improved keyboard, g-sensor, improved speaker phone, larger system and program memory and is Windows 6.5 ready when it launches.

The G-Sensor will be useful, when you are on a call and place the handset face down it will automatically go in to speakerphone mode.

My Tytn II won't charge in the car anymore so hope this launches soon as I need my techy WM mobile!

Apologies this has a qwerty keyboard - I hadnt reliased and that makes its a complete yes compared to the TYTN 2

Thanks guys :) Sounds like a noticeable improvement then :)

The big decision now is whether to go for one of these, or hold on a few weeks for a new design iPhone....... decisions decisions.....

I have the first version of touch pro, thinking of sticking to it as its solid and most of the new features rom features have been ported over by the guys over at XDA-Dev.

The new iphone I hear only has a few changes like camera and being slim
#17
Micah, ive got a touch pro myself, the big change to the 2 has got to be screen size, its tempting

Mine shipped today, pics and review will be up tomorrow :)

Hiya Minstadave, what phone did you have before? I've got the Tytn II and am wondering on the size difference as i'm due an upgrade?

Cheers

I had an awful Nokia N73, this will be my first proper smartphone.
#21
If it had android it would be awesome

Hello - I have an N96 and love it - But I do not know any better - are these any better?

I don't know why Android doesn't get a decent handset. The magic is nice but lacks the high res screen of the Win Mo HTC phones.

Free upgrade to WinMo 6.5 when its released though is pretty good.

This is almost a netbook really, with a high res screen, full keyboard, you can edit office docs, plus there is a huge amount of software available, alot of it for free.

Its a much more open platform than Symbian or OSX.

I'm considering waiting to get a Nokia N97 - any thoughts on this vs N97 vs iphone (and maybe vs the new Palm)? I guess I won't be the only one this will help.
#28
This phone is not even showing on the Vodafone website. How legitimate is this deal?

the monthly payments seem high - 10 months charges would buy you one contract free in a few months I suspect...

Will out do the iPhone on spec, It will be a class phone, but let down by the software.

although it wont be locked down like the iPhone and you can install anything you want

Its coming out on ORange in a few months, dial 150 and ask them about it

Is this phone newer than the HTC Touch HD? I've been looking to get the HD. The cheapest price for that currently is £27.19 p/m after cashback.

The Touch Pro 2 is a newer model. It has a slide-out qwerty keyboard that the Touch HD lacks but a slightly smaller screen (3.6" vs 3.8") and a lower megapixel camera (3.2 vs 5). Otherwise they are pretty much identical spec wise.

I've had my Touch HD since December and still loving it. It's my fourth WinMo and the best by far. Compliments my Blackberry Bold nicely

Which do you prefer between the Touch HD and the Bold out of interest?

I'd have to say the Touch HD. The huge hi-res screen is glorious to use and the latest iteration of the HTC TouchFLO 3D interface is so slick, it's quite hard to find Windows Mobile underneath it now (if you even want to look for it)!

The Bold also has a beautiful screen with amazing colours, but it's obviously much smaller and the interface is a bit dated and basic in comparison. You can't beat the Bold's keyboard though (and that includes the keyboard on the TyTyn II I had before the Touch HD).
