OK, feel free to flame me or give cold if I have worked out wrong, I know this deal has been on for a few month, but not sure if I have worked this out correct.

(Please don't give cold because "My phone is better than the Touch 2 Pro!!" )

As the title says: HTC latest Touch Pro 2 with Vodafone Business for 24months contract @ £30, but.....here how I have worked it out:

24mths x £30 = £720
3mths free = -£ 90
Quidco cashback =-£100

Net total = £530 / 24months = £22.08 (Revised, please see my post further down for new work out)

Thanks!

...isn't that price VAT exclusive?

This phone is the best phone available in the market today.... I have had it a couple of months, and it is the most stable I have ever owned. The build quality is amazing.
#3
I have the same phone too... love it.

vodafone quidco tracked too... took 1 month from initial track for money to come into my account.

I went for the £35 per month contract.
#4
Just tried it and there's £4.50 VAT to add to that price - £34.50/month for 24 months is not good in my opinion.
#5
Not saying this is Hot or Cold, but this is by far the worst phone I have ever had,.

I say this as

Its windows 6
its too big and too heavy
and too slow, tap and wait to see if its actually taken the command.

The iphone is much more responsive and by far easier to use, obviously because it is not "windows" based.

If you are thinking of buying this try one first.

He's right.... the vodafone stores have them to test. Tomtom works a treat on this too... picks up a signal within a few seconds

Ah...The wonderful VAT. Sorry and thanks to all those who have pointed the price exc VAT.

OK, if I'm correct, then that work out should be:

(£30 + 17.5% assume 01/01/10) = £35.25

£35.25 x 24mths = £846.00 (dam VAT!!)
3 mths free (is this excl VAT??) = -£90
Quidco cashback = -£100

Net monthly = £846 - £190 = £656 / 24mths = £27.33

Alternatively, go for the £25 contract, that should work out to be about £25.63 (includes the initial cost of £85.11) :p

beats the iphone hands down, there were 3 iphones in our office and now only 1, and two HTC pro 2's..... (I would also suggest trying one, you won’t be disappointed)

Got mine on vodafone, so I had to add a custom rom to get rid of the horrible red theme that they send it out with....

the 5 line keyboard is exceptional.....

I have both........ and the HTC pro 2 IMHO is the worst phone I have every had. Mainly for the reasons stated above. Windows interface is so poorly thought out with so many inconsistencies!!!!

But the biggest problem is the lag.

seriously find that hard to belive, i have one unbranded , and find it real responsive and ive hardly tweeked anything on it, flashed it with the latest official HTC rom, not gone down the custom ROM route yet like other WM phones ive had. Something dont seem right with yours?

rom 1.19.401.1
radio 4.46.25.24

Was playing with my mates 3GS on saturday as he was playing with mine, we found them to be both real responsive, and great in there own ways, tho i think opera brouser beats safari.
#16
Total agree.... clearly if you have owned one then it was/is faulty....
#17
Maybe mine is faulty............ I have given up with it to be honest, it was a spur of the moment buy, but it is really slow and I hate windows 6 even if it was faster.

Rom is 1.14.161.6
Radio is 3.33.25.27

Is either a duff version?
#18
Got my phone yesterday. Wow! What a piece of art work, although some say it's heavy, I'm actually used to it consider I have used other WM devices and this is top quality.

UI is extremely smooth (OK, maybe not as smooth as iPhone), but this is good....very good. Love this phone so far.

that roms a vodafone ( filled with there crap version ) that will be the main issue. previous WM phones that ive had ( with T-mobiles custom roms on ) have been poor, i really dont know why they do it???

Tho a quick rom flash to remove all there bloat and you have a very useable phone, tho this must really cripple future WM phone sales

Great phone, EYE WATERINGLY HORRIBLE red & white theme. I saw all of those flash pics of the standard, classy, 'black, grey and green' theme on the unbranded model, and when I got mine from Vodafone I wanted to cry LOL.

If you could point me in any direction to get rid of my VF theme and apply the stock one i'd be very grateful. I checked out XDA but i'm easily confused. Is there an easy way of doing it?

Please say yes!

Oh, hot deal, but wear tinted shades to avoid retina damage from the screen if you buy a vodafone one. ;-)

its pretty straight forward to lose the vodafone crap

A guide on there http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=550540

But basically,

1st install the Hard-SPL http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=550131
this allows you to save the phone , restore it if you screew up flashing a rom,

isntall by downloading it, sync phone to pc then just run it, make sure your phone batterys over 50% is recommended.

Then find the rom of you choice, either custom or oem htc or network one there all on there, download sync phone and run, simples.

Same for radios, the 4.46.25.24 one is mega, gps , quick and strong and the batterys real good, no missed or drop calls yet, ( on t-mobile )

when flashing a rom you will lose all your personel info, so back it up if still needed

fil, although I'm not on Vodafone, but thanks for the useful links...Rep added!

Thanks Fil, the advice you gave was much appreciated. My phone is now updated with the stock HTC ROM. Rep added... Many thanks!
