#2

#3
hot! but shame it's 14 days delivery
#4
Nice price
#5
the good things come slowly ;)
#6
Hopefully, when Desire HD launches, the Desire will go on sale (PAYG), for about £175 ish.
I am waiting, until my Blackberry contract is over by christams.
#7
What colour do you get? There looks like 3 colours on offer but can't select
#8
is this phone unlocked? can we take next day delivery option?
#9
Phone is locked, you can't get next day delivery as it's not available until the end of the month. The gross price is the same as everywhere else - it's Quidco that's the USP.

Hi mate. Can u confirm whether the code can be used by Existing customers or is it just for New customers!
#15
My mate got his new Wildfire on Vodaphone unlocked by Foneszone.co.uk yesterday...it was ~ £22.50 for a code by email.
#16
ordered one this afternoon. I had to ring the 0844 customer service number and place the order as the web site would not accept my card details. I already had an existing account with additions and the guy on the other end still accepted the code XV437 (thanks foulone)
with a final price = £120.05

I had a play around with one of these today.

DO NOT BUY IT is my advice, go for the 'San Fancisco' android phone from orange (£99 on payg), much better handset IMO, the screen (most important part to me) is soooo much better than the WildFire, faster processor. The SF does have a weaker camera, but to me thats the right area to be weak on a budget handset.

Good review of the SF here

Read the review linked in my last post, tells you everything in great detail.

bought the wildfire and well disappointed, i wish i went for the orange san francisco too, but voted hot cos its 20quid cheaper than what i paid for mine

BEWARE!! Just clicked on the "go to deal" button & the link to the woolworths webpage contains & opens a trojan virus!!
Thank god I have Kaspersky Antivirus picked it up & blocked access!!

hot, simple, £150 on ebay plus postage, and theyre used and locked , so £129 brand new is still a damn good price, even if its locked, cos an unlock for htc is like £15

It's been £129 on Play.com for a week or so actually. They tend to get the phone to you within 3 days or so as well (I ordered mine last week).

EDIT: Just realised Play have now bumped the price up to £139 on their site. Guess I got there in time!

A good phone for the price (+£22.50 to unlock it with a new code). It just depends on the preference between the whole debate regarding Wildfire vs. San Fran. Personally, I've never been a fan of Orange backgrounds and icons as they just look dull (I was an Orange user for several years previously), however it seems it has a better resolution screen which is a big bonus. The Wildfire has a better camera though which again is a big bonus in my opinion and the prices don't differ greatly for a smartphone so it's just down to personal preference. But please, don't say one phone is better than the other as if it's an obvious statement because ultimately they're both good phones for great value.

Smartphones are all about the experience, this is delivered via the screen. The Wildfires screen is shocking quality and very low resolution. If you are considering buying one of these try and get a demo first.

You can 'root' the SF very easily and remove all the orange branding in about 10mins, another plus is you can unlock it to all networks for 99p via fleabay.

The Wildfire has the better camera and thats about it, weaker in all other aspects, have a good think about it.

Who makes the San Fancisco?

Its under Oranges brand....I think its the ZTE blade and its going down a storm...

The link to the post for the San Fran is here

I got one for the GF and its going back - only because she says its too wide to fit in her small bags, I've played with it and if I didnt have a free blackberry via work I would have one.... not played with the wildfires yet but they do look nice!

Wildfire 320 x 240 = 76800 pixels
SanFran 800 x 480 = 384000 pixels

FIVE TIMES the detail on the San Francisco
320x240 is pathetic for web browsing or any other detailed viewing
The quality of the display is another failure in itself.

Great phone, but the Blade (San Fran) beats it hands down.

It is ZTE, a company with a very poor rep for quality.

Have to say though, I think I'm leaning towards the SF for part of the wifes xmas present.

Are you a salesman for ZTE and Orange? Stop incessently trying to put the same points across to make people buy a ZTE, let them decide for themselves. You say a weak camera isn't that bad, but personally I love using the camera and uploading photos - as do many I imagine so it's quite a 50/50 decision, plus from what I've read the HTC build quality is very good. As I say, they both seem like very good value for money phones, especially thesedays so just let people try them both, read the reviews themselves and stop pestering people trying to change their opinions like a broken record.
#39
Compare the temps of both deals for an indicator of how popular each phone is right now:

HTC Wildfire (this thread) 286°

San Francisco (this thread) 3261°

Does that tell you anything?

If you want a decent camera phone:
you can buy a much better one than the Wildfire for the same money

If you want a decent smartphone:
you can buy a much better one than the Wildfire for the same money

I pity anyone who tries to use any smartphone with a 320x240 screen resolution, almost all the features that make smartphones special will be rendered redundant.

The San Francisco wipes the floor with this ageing relic of a phone

Just because you have bought one and cant return it doesnt mean that others should make the same mistake.

Mind you what does that prove?

Yeah buying a smartphone with a 320x240 pixel screen is a real good decision.....

I could quite easily sell my Wildfire on eBay, and probably make a profit considering it's unlocked.

I've not once said the Wildfire is a much better phone either, I've merely stated from the many reviews I read (I was phoneless for nearly 3 weeks so did a lot of reading up) that the Wildfire suited me.

Stop becoming so uptight about everything, oh and the San Fran having a higher "heat" rating is probably down to it's new release and many people anticipating it as well. Even you should have the brains to know that.
