Rather hot!!

The HTC Wildfire is a lower spec HTC Desire.
#2
What are the disadvantages of this over the desire apart from the obvious (screen size/quality)?
Will this be powerful enough to run future version of android?

So many questions ....
#3
Hot, over £220 on amazon... just wish I had the cash for this right now, been wanting one for a month or so now.

what is this like vs the san franciso?

I have seen both and in my option the san franciso has a much brighter (higher res too) screen.
and has more RAM and a faster CPU.
But i dont think its built as well as the HTC.

love this phone, using for 2 weeks now (white). looks amazing. but sadly where is no android 2.2 update for this one. but should be sooner or later. very good phone
#11

Great deal if you cant afford a desire ;)

and as requested above

Summary:

1. The Wildfire is slightly smaller than the Desire

2. The Wildfire LCD screen is smaller than the Desire’s LED screen

3. The Desire has a more powerful processor than the Wildfire

4. The Desire has more RAM than the Wildfire

5. The Desire is equipped with an accelerometer while the Wildfire is not

Hero is much better thn wildfire, so you've got a better mobile

I've had this phone nearly 4 months. Very good phone BUT freezes with demanding applications, especially the Navigation software, If its running the navigation software it will struggle with anything else. The processor is only 533Mhz whereas the HTC Desire is 1Ghz.

So what's the advantage of getting this over the san franciso bar the better camera?
#18
Cheap but I would have thought the San Fran was the better deal.

thanks...i need it for o2 so should be ok then, been waiting for these to drop in price for a while

Trouble with HTC Wildfire is the screen size, some applications won't be available for it, and will be hidden in the marketplace.

Personally I'd go for the Orange San Francisco, depending on how good the rom scene is likely to become. It looks great value for money!

If its locked to Tesco you wont be able to put an O2 sim in it, however a Tesco sim will work in a O2 locked phone...

when is the san francisco out?

Good deal, but I'm putting my wildfire on Ebay and getting a SF instead. The lower screensize isn't too bad, but a lot of apps just won't show up on the marketplace because they don't support it!

This phone is still not cheap enough as Orange san francisco vote for cold.

I've had my wildfire for 2 months now, really happy with it. My only 3 gripes are that the screen res is an issue if you want to show off photo albums, it's far easier to turn off the alarm than snooze which is a pain in the morning, and also the main menu button being on the touch screen means I keep wanting to press the home button, but i think the new desire hd has the same button design.

I think having a slower processor gives it a more reasonable battery life than the desire. Mine easily lasts 2 days on a charge.
#30
i would say go for the san franciso and get it unlocked. and save about £50

How do you work that one out? They are almost identical, with Wildfire being lighter, thinner, and with more RAM?

Only vote cold if you can find the Wildfire cheaper somewhere else, which I assume you can't...sigh.
