do ya know if the S-on is on or off?
#2
I have one of these and it's agreat phone.
Under half the price I paid for it. Hot.

Good price, especially if unlocked (paid £23 to have mine unlocked from the Vodafone network)
#4
also Quidco £6.50
for a PAYG or Sim Free phone

this is a great price, great little phone that does a lot. If you leave ur wireless on all the time though it drains the battery within 24hrs of charging, otherwise battery will last around 5 days.

It'll most likely be S-OFF.

Horrible phone. No support on the market at all, lots of apps missing. Display quality is dreadful, camera is useless. Wouldn't take it for free!

It's nowhere near as bad as you make out. I'd like the S version though.

How does it compare to the SF?
#13
San Francisco is much better in terms of screen size, resolution, CPU speed, size of RAM etc.
#14
I've had both phones and without a doubt, the SF is much MUCH better than the original wildfire.

The display is the killer for me. The Wildfire's display is awful. The phone itself won't play most games, it even struggles with Angry Birds and I had to put it into airplane mode each time or else it just wasn't man enough for the job.

Most of the time it feels sluggish. The only nice thing is Sense UI but its really hampered again by the screen.

To be fair, it did its job as a starter Android phone for my OH. We sold it though after 3 months as she was sick of things being too slow like Navigation.

If you have a modicum of technical knowledge then get yourself a Orange SanFran, unlock it and upgrade to the latest Android in minutes.

Cheers - I got the right one then! Running 2.2 now.

Better phones for the money these days. I've got a year old one of these, and I'm not annoyed too much by the screen res unlike seemingly everyone else, but the slow speed gets very annoying. Bubble Blast 2 will struggle to run, and forget anything that's 3D rendering.

I think this phone got unfairly slated - it's a little phone, but it's got aspirations to be a big one. I think the S will perform well enough to satisfy most users, but don't buy this any more, it's not enough powah.

Anyone know if phones ordered online are also unlocked?

Wildfire S is better...ordered from phones4u for £144 including £15 topup from three and came in next day delivery post - unlocked. great deal.

Paying £100+ wildfire now is waste of money

Thanks lokesh. So its def unlocked and no 3 branding.
I think I will order the S instead.
