Pretty good spec, 1Ghz CPU, 512MB ram, 4GB rom and 4inch screen, all for 100POUNDS! I better say bye to my ZTE skate, lol.

Trying to breathe life my slightly changing a chip set that I swear is atleast 4 years old

Flash wont work its ARM6, the insides are basically slightly improved Zte Blade/Skate. Acer Liquid Metal is Faster.
This is slower than the oldest Snapdragons

this is not armv6, it's an armv7 handset.

Adobe flash and BBC Iplayer work on this cpu

For all the unlocking questions: it's £15.68 here (change to GBP first or you'll have to change one of the other drop-down boxes as it doesn't register). There may be cheaper places...

can confirm that the phone is in stock in Croydon just picked one up. Initial thoughts are its a cracking deal for £100. I have an old vodafone sim card on PAYG which meant I did not have to buy the top up.

On top of the specs above it also has gorilla glass.

R.E unlocking I just called Vodafone using my girlfriends [b]contract[b] account and they gave me the unlock code over the phone free of charge.

Get one while you can

Thanks very much - I had been wondering about that but the shops helpfully don't have phone numbers (ironically!).

Ooh, I'll have to see how they react to a contract card.

Now that is even more interesting! We've asked for a PAC on the contract card though, so they might notice this. The minimum term has expired.

This looks interesting! ARMv7 has been confirmed, looks as though it should be able to run ICS. Powerful, big screen, decent camera with flash, everything I need from a OSF replacement. And it doesn't say San Francisco on it! We just need unlock now.

MoDaCo founder Paul O'Brien has purchased one, and MoDaCo now have a forum up about this device

The contract situation is down to store manager.

However the account I used for the unlock code is actually dead. We left for T-Mobile last month. So should still be fine. Best people to speak to are offshore as they have a lesser understanding of handset release dates etc.

Sorry to hear that - it just worked for me (£100 straight - didn't want any money for top-ups). Text message arrived the instant I confirmed the order (and that was to a non-Vodafone phone). The only trouble with the site is that it wants to set 57 cookies, if you have cookie filtering!

Seems you can avoid this by buying online (presumably also with collect-at-store) - but you have to wait a bit longer before you can get your greasy paws on it!

Haha - only reason I have ever seen to use to off-shore call centres! It's worth a try - even if they charge they might charge less than the £15 or so it costs on the web.

This phone will be getting an ICS update later this year - HOT!
