OK it's only 3G, but surely a decent buy at this price? Amazon reviews look very good.

Comes with 2GB data which lasts 30 days. I'd swap the sim out after the 30 days as top up rates are pricey. Get a sim only deal from Id mobile or Talkmobile or someone else with good rates who support tethering.

BTW you can also buy a 12GB EE sim for £20.99 (at 2GB per month) or a 12GB Three sim which you can use however you want for 12 months. Not sure if it is unlocked, but if it is locked you can unlock these for free by generating your own code (or pay someone £0.99 on eBay to give you the code, keeps them employed I guess).

EE 12GB sim link

Three 12GB sim link

Don't forget your 4.4% Topcashback either...wahoo!

Can't see why anyone would buy this? 2gb extra data added on to my mobile package will be no more than £10?!

We have almost the same MiFi unit - but then we have a contract for 15GB at £6 month - which makes this one look very expensive indeed, so cold.

Very true, but this is perfect for someone who doesn't want / can't get a contract. Or simply ways a device to go abroad with :)

Argos q&a states that it is locked. A quick Google reveals that it is easy to unlock, however. Will pick it up tomorrow to test.

Got 2, easily unlocked (99p) Ideal for travelling.

I've got one of these bought from three (came unlocked) and they work very well abroad. Ideal for use if your current mobile provider doesn't do cheap roaming (virgin I'm looking at you) and you can share it with (I think) 5 other people at the same time.

Tip: If you set the SSID and password the same as your home wireless then you don't even need to change your phone settings.

I use the three 1gb or 3gb sims as needed when I go away.

Used in the states and in Tenerife with zero issues. Battery lasts about 5 - 6 hours. Recommended.

Who is that with? I'm paying £15 per month for 5GB for the SIM with my Mifi.

Anyone know of a decent deal on a 4G device?

If you're trying to unlock this, don't bother with the online calculator.

You need the "fixed v3" algorithm generator. If you can't find it feel free to drop me a pm and I'll send it over (windows only I'm afraid)

Piked mine up and unlocked it :) The tool reference above can be found on an XDA thread. You need to enter the v201 code (or use the 99p service on ebay).

With 3 Mobile. When I get a moment I'll look up the plan details (it is one we have used for some years so I can't remember off the top of my head).

I'd like a copy of that Windows based Code Calculator please?. :-)

I'm unable to PM you (I already tried that for you, before this less than 'private method', lol).

As you have you PM feature switched off ...

if so this shld work then - Free unlock: http://huaweiunlockcalculator.com/v201-huawei-unlock-calculator-v3

as the 'Unlock (V3)' you get in the list of codes after you enter you IMEI is the same as the v201 you mentioned :)
