Released yesterday, this seems like a lot of phone for a budget price and has been getting some very positive reviews. Available in silver, grey or gold (although grey appears to have sold out as I submit this).

Shows as £229 on the product page but when you add to the basket and activate the discount it'll drop to £206.10 with free shipping.

Edit: price has dropped by £5 since this morning, now £201.60.

Possible 4.4% cashback via TCB here (thanks to Feel_My_Noobies):
https://www.topcashback.co.uk/vmalleu-huawei-and-honor/

Edit: Tech specs on the website (copied below) state no NFC however I contacted vMall and they've confirmed the UK model does have NFC.

Thank you for contacting vMall.
I glad to inform you that the Honor 6X (UK version) does support NFC.

If you have any other questions, please don't hesitate to contact us.

Kind regards,

honor 8 was one of the best phones I've ever used,if this is close to that then bargain
#3
looks quite decent, only negatives from my pov would be the plastic on the back and thickish bezels
#4
This is essentially the true Honor 7 replacement
(yes i know there is an Honor 8 but its rather pricey)
Its a mid range phone with a lot of features for a £200 price, essentially what the Honor 7 was

It's metal on the back.

Edit: Not sure why the tech specs say no NFC, I've seen screenshots in reviews that show the NFC icon in the status bar.

As someone who has used the Honor 8 would it be worth the £280 Amazon are currently charging for it?

Otherwise this might be a decent alternative despite the slower processor, lower screen ppi, lower GPU, lower ram, micro-usb, lower megapixel dual camera.

It's a production model so whatever is showed does not mean it will be in the actual retail models, pretty much every reviewer are stating no NFC. Unless its a big mistake from the Huawei, assume it has no NFC.

Not really. You're G2 is probably snappier performance was. You'll have spend a bit more if you want a true upgrade. The Honor 8, for example, is a much worthier upgrade.

honor 7 has arguable a better processor. but this has better camera larger battery which probably mean nothing as it has a larger display, more internal storage. i think this may also get better software support as its a new phone. but no gyroscope for compass and apps. it all depends on needs if you want a smaller phone or larger is gyro is imprtatnt or not ect. personally i would pay extra for the honor 8.

Only thing missing is a USB-C connector. Saying that though, it's still charges pretty quickly

Great deal, but unfortunately not for me...

Really, really wanted this to be NFC and have a decent speaker or front facing speakers! I think I am getting too picky/spoilt with what my next phone needs to contain, and I only want to pay around the £200.

I use me Nexus 6 for music through the amazing speakers and addicted to Google Pay NFC, as always forgetting my wallet. But it is now beginning to get rather battered and need a replacement.

Came to post this. Good price - goes back up tomorrow. Shame the grey sold out :(.

Was going to get honor 8 but that has poor speakers :(.

The search for a £200 - £300 decent phone continues.

yeah the ui gets bad reviews but it didn't bother me in the slightest and easily switched to something else, the performance and feel are good and the fingerprint sensor is the best I've used

Is it worth going for this or the honor 8 on amazon?

Think it depends on what you need..

Honor 6X, seems to have bigger battery by 300+ mah, 5.5" screen 3gb ram etc
Honor 8, 5.2" screen, 4gb ram, overall slightly faster

I think 6X has a good value, which just makes Honor 8 a bit less attractive

Yeah, you lose quite a bit of function without this, but for simple users - it should be fine for the specs given?

At least they shouldn't need to upgrade too soon, unless they need gyro etc :{

I don't know what a gyro is, what's it necessary for?
#34
Think I'd rather have the better than usual 3GB RAM & 32GB ROM rather the latest top flight processor, it's a mobile not a video work processing station or something!

I don't know what a gyro is, what's it necessary for?

Not an expert, but I believe it's related to motion/sensors, so driving games to steer etc. That may mean it may not work for fitness tracking, though I don't work in either sector. So I don't even know how they track fitness by phone etc.

To be honest, if you use your phone for simple things, surfing the net, basic gaming, calls etc - I don't think not having gyro will have a huge impact on your experience
