Looks to be a great phone for the money.

This is similar to the Huawei G510 that was posted here previously, but this Y300 model has the smaller 4" screen so may be more comfortable for people with smaller hands. This one also comes SIM free, so won't require unlocking and won't have the Vodafone splash screens that the G510 had.

Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, MicroSDHC slot, removable battery, reasonable processor. Only 512MB of RAM but with my use of the G510 so far I haven't found this to be much of an issue.

Carphone Warehouse will sell it from £59.95 + £10 top up from tomorrow.

I've had a Huawei Blaze phone for 18 months now. It cost £50 and i've never had a problem. It's had plenty of use including tethering my laptop for long periods. I'm considering getting this Y300 myself!

Smaller screen, better pixel desnsity, slightly larger battery than the G510.
My sons G300 has been pretty flawless apart from a digitizer problem which Voda fixed within a week :)

Have some heat

Me and Mrs bought a Huawei G300 each. Now fighting with Vodafone to get them to unlock them free of charge.

Smaller screen than the g510 but does this actually mean a smaller phone, check the measurements. I agree the pixel density is better but I think anything over 210 PPI is fine. The processor on the g510 runs at 1.2 GHz. So overall I think the 510 is a better phone for same price.

Have you tried a non Voda SIM in it as folk who bought refurbished ones from the Vodafone shop found they were unlocked anyway. You can buy unlock codes on eBay for about £4 each if you need them. Much easier to buy then the hassle of getting Voda to provide the unlock code.

512MB isn't great now, but for £130 this isn't bad at all.

I think the lenovo a820 is better. its quad core with 1gb ram and around £130

512MB Ram sounds poor, I'd prefer an unlocked Xperia U Dual-core for around the same price

For me this is waste of money, if you buy mobile with 512 ram, apps like yahoo , hotmail, skype , and other messenger even if you open it one at a time they causes problem, lagging and open to slowly, we need faster mobile at least dual with minimum 1gb ram, but HUKD is like Tesco or other store, we enter to buy one thing but when we come out we did a lot of shopping........ also whatever people say positive abt Huawei for me is crap company for mobilessssss

Last time I looked it was £139 from here, but was a month ago, picked one up for a mate looking for a phone that wasn't too big : http://shop.sonymobile.com/gb/phones/

This is £59.99 at CPW on PAYG Upgrade.

Tbh if you use yahoo or hotmail apps on their phone, well, they're a bit crap. Skype runs just fine.

If I buy high spec mobile phone directly from China such as /zte-v967

http://dx.com/p/zte-v967s-mtk6589-quad-core-android-4-2-1-wcdma-bar-phone-w-5-0-qhd-wi-fi-and-gps-black-blue-216265

What is the potential problem that I might have, especially related to technical problem, how could I know whether they will have google play to download any latest apps ?
- I am aware about custom duty about £20
- Difficulty with guarantee but I am willing to take this risk .

It seems to me this one is much better spec. If people who knows well could shed the light, if will be great

thanks
