I popped into my local store in swindon today with family and picked up some fantastic bargains for next christmas.

Duchess Slim 7ft artificial tree was £69.99 now £3.00
Nordic Snow fir 6.5ft artificial tree was £74.99 now £3.00
Pre-lit English pine 6ft tree was £69.99 now £3.00
Pre-lit 4ft tree was £39.99 now £1.00
HUGE bag of single decorations and boxed baubles all £0.10p each!

All of their large trees are now £3 and all their single decorations are 10p each. The only exceptions are about 3 styles of tree which are still half price (we saw about 15 different types in the £3-£1 prices) and a small section of decorations which are half price!

Well worth the visit, now me, mam and grandad are set up for next year!

Just been down to my local branch and the best they had was 50% off and as the tree's etc were so overpriced to start with they were still way too expensive!

Glad you got a deal, don't hold out much hope for others just yet though.

It's not that they'd gone, there was lots there, but the staff were still marking things down as 50%, so the cheapest pre-lit was about £35 really not worth the drive, but may be for someone else. They actually still had trees for £99! Insane.

None for miles and miles but good deal none the less, Heat Added

Possibility of Wyevale being the next casualty of the recession.

So watch out for offers getting even better there.
#16
Sorry NOTHING in my local store!
#17
Cold here also, just half price at my local.

I work in wyevale and I don't think this is a national offer. The managers of individual stores are cutting the prices just to get rid of them.

Hi Guys and Gals - just been to the Wyevale in Binfield (near Maidenhead, Berkshire) and it looks like they are closing down. NO signs saying that but many of the shop shelves are totally empty and the rest are sparsely populated. Looks like the store was used on the set of Survivors.

Discounts on Christmas stuff mostly 50% with some oddities priced individually at bigger discounts. However, even at that sort of discount, there was almost nothing to choose from. Went to spend a penny or two and wasted the diesel instead.

My advice, for what it's worth, phone first rather than make a special trip.

It doesn't necessarily mean they are closing down. My store was like that a few days ago. It's just them getting rid of all the christmas stuff ready for the new season.

Fantastic prices.
If you're lucky to have one near you, and they're in stock, you're sorted for next year.

We bought our first artificial tree from Wyevale 14 years ago in the sale after Xmas and it is still going strong, Admittedly it was the best 7 ft tree they had then and it has been brilliant. My wife said this year "perhaps we had better think of changing it" and I mumbled about there being nothing wrong with this one!

However, today we went into Wyevale in Derby on the way back from Costco because of this thread and their luxury 7' 6" tree with cones and lights was down from £300 to £150. I laughed when I was told the original price and the young lad said "what would you pay for it?" and I said "not even £50" jokingly and he said that the manager would let me have it for £40. I was so embarrased I said OK!

Also got 2 lots of 180 outdoor white LED lights for £20 - dirt cheap.

Looks like the wife got her wish after all!

Heat and Rep for this - even though I spent money I did not think I needed to! - BAH HUMBUG! ;-)
