Q - Linda has been given the task of making a giant cake for her nephews birthday. the receipe says that she needs to use 4 litres of water, however, she only has a 5 litre jug, and a 3 litre jug. can she get the litres that she needs, and if so, how??

A - She can get the 4 litres she need. first, she takes the five litre jug and fills it with water. she pours 3 litres from the 5 litre jug into the 3 litre jug leaving her with 2 litres in the in the 5 litre jug. she then pours away the 3 litre jug, and purs the remainging 2 litres from the 5 litre jug, into the 3 litre jug. she then fills the 5 litre jug and pours 1 litre into the 3 litre jug to fill it. this leaves her with 4 litres left in the 5 litre jug that she needs :)
