Is it HD?

No it isn't.

But it has a HDMI output and will upscale SD content so it "looks pretty" on a HD set.

Anyone knows if it's only that one store ? It's £160 on their website.

great machine and a bargin.
#9
Great machine. Especially if you can get it for this kind of money. It upscales to HD but will not show HD channels.
#10
Brilliant bit of kit but surely a misprice

Got any proof newbie OP ??

I doubt it's a misprice - Tesco are probably just clearing out what will be obsolete technology in a few months.

Good as these SD only boxes are, they are dinosaurs now that Freeview HD is up and running, and HD PVR prices are dropping all the time.

Astonishing price for a Humax regardless of HD capabilities.
Mine has served me well since I bought it in 2005 and I somehow manage to survive with 80gb of storage.

i'm looking for a freeview box with hard drive for recording.

#16

hmmmm smells fishy to me.

you got a bargain great pvr i have the 5120t model
#21
These are very good recorders for most needs. If worried about the obsolescence aspect - they would make a good machine for a spare room or bedroom, perhaps?
#22
Great price for a quality PVR. If you weren't in need of one though, i'd wait for the Freeview HD PVRs....

I'm hoping Sumvision come out with their successor to the HD2 to have Freeview HD tuners in, then i'll get that instead with a separate HD!

This site is really funny at times.... some reasonably good deals are posted where people have taken the time to include a photo of what they think is a bargain and it doesn't get much heat - as if the HUKD are in a particularly stroppy mood when they see it. Then you get something like this that generates loads of heat.... bizarre!

why do people post comments asking for proof, complaining that some items get loads of heat and some don't. really? i'm not being arsy, just that this is a free to use forum and people complain about it. not aiming this at you mac_d, but you see it all the time. there's a simple answer to those that don't like the forum :)

but if you do stay, stop your bloody moaning!

damn noobs voting hot on one off store specific item again!

only an idiot would question why people criticise the noobs voting hot on store specific one off deals (see post above this one for a prime example).

It makes a mockery of the heat system
#27
Sorry, no proof = no heat from me. It's not that i wish to accuse the OP of misrepresenting the facts, but if we all went on face value the site would be a useless repository of fisherman's tales.

Voted HOT as even if store specific some other HUKD'er could get one and its a very HOT prioce for a very good machine. A hot deal is a hot deal even if only one other person can get it. I cant in this instance but that does not make this a cold deal.

PS

I'm no noob!

so if my mate who works in currys can get me a psp for £20 in a clearance sale, then I should post it as a deal and expect it to be 1000 degrees?

after all, its one store, one item and only 1 person can get it which is fine in your book.

PS

you vote like a noob ;)
