For the ultimate in digital TV, welcome to freesat+.

Taking freesat technology one step further, freesat+ gives you the ability to record digital channels on the massive 320GB hard disc drive. Furthermore, this HDD system also lets you pause and rewind live TV! It doesn't stop there, either. Twin TV tuners mean that you can record 2 channels at the same time or watch one program whilst recording another.

As ever, freesat gives you access to over 140 digital TV and radio channels with the option of HD (High Definition) viewing.

To make the most of this latest innovation, the Humax Foxsat-HDR makes the ideal choice. As the name suggests, the Foxsat-HDR is able to receive HD TV channels and services and will therefore make the most of HD Ready TVs. With up to 5 times the picture detail, HD TV images offer stunning realism, whatever the genre.

As you'd expect from one of the leading manufacturers of set-top boxes, the Humax freesat HDR has a very high spec. The HDMI output resolves up to 1080i, whilst there's a SCART for those without an HDMI-equipped TV. An optical digital output allows you to connect the set-top box to a home cinema system and get digital sound quality to match the picture. With automatic software upgrades, a full colour on-screen programme guide and Ethernet support, the Foxsat-HDR is easy to use and comprehensively equipped for the future.

For the complete freesat experience, the Humax Foxsat-HDR makes a compelling choice.

freesat and the freesat logo are the registered trade marks of Freesat (UK) Ltd

This product comes with a budget HDMI cable. To enjoy even better sound and vision you can trade it in and receive £5 off a quality upgrade. Ask instore for details.

Unfortunately mate it says there is none, same in Liverpool for some reason we never have as many as other stores no matter what the deal but hopefully someone will get some benefit as it is a good deal.

Good luck

I did that a year ago. To be honest this box is ok but its not as user-friendly as a Sky box of whichever flavour. I can't understand why someone can't make a box which rivals the ease of a Sky box but that's just my opinion and I'm sure someone will disagree. After a year of watching Chinese football chanels I think i'll bite the bullet and go back to Sky for the start of next season. Hate giving the phone-tapper my money though.

Oooh.. very tempting!

Bargain. I got the grade a deal that was on here a couple of weeks ago for 30 quid more. Top piece of kit. If you can find one snap it up
#12
After years of paying Sky £60 a month I bought one of these when I moved house. I dont need sports channels so it is a brilliant buy for me. all the functions of Sky plus. Not quite so many channels but all the basics and more. I would def recommend this and a brilliant price if you can get it. I paid £220 for mine.

Mega-bargain - these cost twice this amount when they came out 18 months or so (I know because that's what I paid).

I guess Humax are moving some stock out as 'graded' now that Freeview HD is arriving and the demand for Freesat will drop a bit.

Perfect if you've already got a Sky dish and want to stick two fingers up at Mr Murdoch!
#14
Great price, paid the same as others £220
#15
Even though I would never shop with this retailer, this is a hot deal.
#16
Bought one when they first came out. Highly recommended.
#17
great price, fantastic bit of kit...not quite the record low price (£99- thanks Best Buy ;-))
#18
I wonder if Bromley have stock
#19
i think the humax is brilliant and i like it better than sky+.

transferring recordings onto a usb memory stick or external hard drive is superb.

These will be end of line stock clearance. Being replaced by the 500GB model

Still love mine , Great machine ... (_;)

I've had issues with the box turning itself off at odd times. On third box now. Beware the "ex-repair" models!
#23
Lets see if anyone actually gets one....

I say very unlikely. I enquired locally for one a month ago and the stock on the web site did not reflect what the shops had.

Those that had one said it was ex display and couldn't guarantee they had all the bits for it.

Would be hot, but it's not going to happen for many if any of you.

how can you chek stock by store?

The first response in the thread gives the stock in the stores that have any and also the phoen number of the store.

This is not always accurate so call your local store when they open and ask them and if thye have stock ask them to keep you one. The clearance items all have a link on the page to show stock but it is not always accurate as has been said many times.....but it doesn't mean they enver have stock because they do.....

Good luck

Great machine HD can be upgraded or recordings copied to external USB storage.

Not the quality of FreeSAT SD and HD video is MUCH better than the Freeview HD due to the higher bandwidth on Satellite Vs Terrestrial

Also the Humax HDR FreeSAT has a great SD picture and superb HD (1080i) output and built in BBC iPlayer (needs an Ethernet connection to broadband) the remote on the unit is multi function.

Had one of these for a long while (my 4th Humax) in 10 years. Great built quality and design. Audio and Video is great.

If you don't want FreeSat the unit has DiSEqC in non FreeSAT mode if you need it. http://foxsat-hdr.wikispaces.com/DiSEqC

To play the recorded SD files and unencrpyted HD files just copy to a PC and use VLC or http://kmplayer.en.softonic.com/ (remember to say no the the yahoo toolbar) There is a portable version of KMPlayer for flash drives (so no need to install on a PC) http://portableapps.com/apps/music_video/vlc_portable for VLC

http://techknew.blogspot.com/2009/10/portable-apps-1-kmplayer.html for KMPlayer portable (some talk about GPL non compliance) http://portableapps.com/node/7170

Just wanted to point anyone who buy's this to : http://www.avforums.com/forums/freesat/1407447-media-file-server-bundle-foxsat-hdr.html

It's an unofficial firmware add on which turns the box into a file/media server and works fantastically!

can these do the same useful stuff that dreambox can do?

Top deal, have one of these bought for around £220 about a year ago, very happy with it and more HD channels are being created at fairly regular intervals, iPlayer's nice on it too.
