Humax HD-FOX T2 Freeview HD STB

Going rate seems to be £180, seems to be cheapest around.

Stick your post code in below and see when freeview HD is available to you.
http://www.freeview.co.uk/availability

You will need a freeview HD receiver to receive the HD channels

Strongly advise anyone to check their area, this is going to be a slow upgrade to this finishing in 2012, so definitely not worth buying right now for quite a number of people, by then the boxes should be much cheaper though!

I wouldnt really recommend jumping in at this price, as cicobuff says its a 2 year roll out, the HD recorders will be out for the world cup so prices should be cheaper,

But by all means this is the cheapest at the moment

Freesat seems to be a cheaper and guaranteed way to get HD TV currently - assuming you have or can get a dish fitted.

I would have said 'the going rate' is more like £165, so not a huge saving e.g. it's been just 60p more at Dixons for the past couple of weeks http://www.dixons.co.uk/gbuk/humax-hd-fox-t2-digital-receiver-04798738-pdt.html?srcid=8324&xtor=ES-77&srcid=369&tag=Awin&xtor=AL-1-[Awin]

Was reviewed in What Hi Fi latest issue [I know! :w00t:] but what I thought quite alarming was that they said the PQ was a bit 'softer' than FreeSAT HD!

That being the case, I think I would be waiting until there is more development as the Freesat HD I have is hardly stellar as it is!

And that's also bearing in mind that my Humax 9200 Freeview SD PVR is miles better in the picture quality stakes over the equivalent satellite SD....

Good current price, yes...but I would wait..

In total agreement with everything you said as a freesat and 9200 owner myself. I wish the BBC had not dropped the BBC HD bitrate, it really did lower the detail in my eyes.

People need to stop buying these Freeview HD sets so they are forced to lower the price, then I'll be able to afford one. lol

not only to lower them for that reason, they are very much over priced, all seems like a bit of a con to me, weve been getting ripped off for any freeview boxes or built into tvs weve bought in the last year or so.
