i think price is best what i have seen
I bought one a few weeks ago and when I got home realised the 'customer return' sticker so took it back for a refund. As good as second hand.
I did pay £60, probably would of kept it at this price.
While I'm sure selling ex display is ok selling "customer returns" without them being marked as such is a bit of a no no but as Curry's are part of the DSG group or "The great Satan" as I like to call them - it's no surprise.

Sure i read somewhere that it needs 20 gig or something for a buffer? But that might have been a dream :)
Try formatting the USB to a HDD file format on your PC.
Also OP, THANK YOU for posting this. I'm gonna try and pick one of these up tomorrow as I live like 3 mins away :D
HOT :)
i have this model why on earth can't you use a USB pen drive only usb hard drive maybe im missing somthing but it does not give the option to format and use it for recording ??
I have this I love it, with a 250 gb HDD, in the instructions it says you need to use a Hard with it's own power source, I wanted to use a 2.5inch USB powered but no luck. Freeview box is much faster than my TV's freeview. You can watch a different channel and record. Or you can record on this box and watch programs through your TV's freeview. Only problem is volume. I need to turn the TV way up when watching through this rather than the TV. Humax said it is a common problem annd tough luck basically. It is only an issue when switching between TV and freeview box. It also plays you tube and iplayer. Hot at this price if you can get one, I paid more from Humax
Once hacked firmware is added you can do shed loads of things!
See: http://wiki.hummy.tv/wiki/Install_Modified_Firmware
Also these will play 1080p Blu-Ray mkv encodes silky smooth no problem provided you quickly run them through mkvmerge gui v2.0.0 (MUST be that older version)
Grab it from here : http://www.bunkus.org/videotools/mkvtoolnix/win32/mkvtoolnix-2.0.0-setup.exe
If the mkv has DTS audio though you will need to convert that before it will work, best just avoid DTS audio if you want to play it on the humax tbh.
I paid £60 refurbished direct from Humax, best gadget I've bought in ages, fantastic HD freeview box which is regarded as the best on the market atm.
I have 2 x 2.5" USB HDD's working on mine, you just need to use a decent POWERED USB hub as obviously the USB port on the Humax cannot provide enough current to power 2 lappy drives.
It has a fantastic web control panel once you use the hacked firmware, you can then control it from your PC or smartphone, see below:

Exactly
Like most of this type of machines they don't provide the enough power over their USB connection, that' why they work with USB sticks that take very, very minor power but even what people think small powered HDD take much more power than solid state memory even at the same memory capacity.

I also use, as Leftfield stated, the custom firmwares that allow you to install all kinds of new fuctions and features. Sky player for one example.
also i know i wont be the only one but if someone finds 2 will be willing to pay postage +£10 ontop
