your link is not working?

Where is this available? How can people vote it hot when you cant even find it?????
#3
I think this is instore at sainsburys again isn't it?

Good price, but not at the rate its getting updated/bug fixed. I really don't know which one to go for at the moment. The only three worth considering seem to be this which is more of a gamble that may come good or the i-Can ADB-2851T and the Icecrypt T2200.

For anyone wondering, it appears this can be used as a single tuner recorder with the latest firmware...

When will Humax reduce the 500GB hard drive version? It's been stuck at £300 for months and months!
#7
Yes, this will record to a USB hard disk. I have one attached to an Iomega 320GB version which works well.
#8
Shall be checking my local Sainsburys tomorrow!

Not perfect by any stretch, but it's a good HD box which works as a recorder when you add some cheap USB memory.
Happy enough with mine, there are some HDMI handshake issues with my Panansonic plasma, and it is pretty complicated to use as a recorder, but at £75 I could overlook all these issues.
Hopefully Humax are working on the bugs...

I got one for £230 by pricematching against this or it's £240 delivered from them:

I've got one of these, i don't see how recording on it is complicated. You press record on the prog you want to record in the EPG just as you would any other PVR

I second noxide. I have one of these, and it is brilliant. Great EPG, great interface, very useful and slickly designed PVR when a USB hard disk added. Also, as if you need more, works great as a network media streamer, and the company Humax is excellent at updating it - they plan to release a net TV portal for it soon. I have a panasonic plasma TV, and there has never been a HDMI issue for me. I recommend this piece of equipment strongly.

What type of portable usb hard drive will this work with? I got a seagate 500gb one recently and if I can partition the drive it would be ideal and economical for me.

The item you have linked to is the FreeSat version rather than the Freeview version. The FreeSat version can be had for a lot less than the Freeview version.

Hot!.... "If" nationwide :)

They had these at £74.99 at Hazel Grove, Stockport. But the shelf is empty now.

I got the last one. The box had been opened, the remote already had batteries in and the box was already tuned. So I guess that it was a returned item.

Thanks for the link, I got one when Tesco had it on offer.

Popped to my local Sainsburys and they only had the display model on offer and wouldn't sell it to me as it had no remote, she checked other stores and they had none either..
Said it was a discontinued line so they were reducing them, she said they had been at £99 for a while!

That’s a good question.
The HDR-FOXT2 has an extra tuner and a hard drive but costs three times as much as the HD-FOXT2-G.
What do we think it should be - £200?
#20
Brought this box 2 weeks ago and the SD picture is much worst than the internal tuner in my sony. HD is fine but having to switch between the two sources is not ideal.
#21
Should be around the £150 mark to be honest as manufacturers are keeping the prices high!
#22
I tried a Technika HD box before this. The SD upscaling was brilliant on that. On this Humax the SD picure quality is no better than the tuner on my 4 year old tv
