That totally confused me as the link is a totally different older model, and it is nearly the same price as this new one!

http://www.humaxdirect.co.uk/product.asp?ProdRef=10069&cat=Factory is the same model, and it is all of £101 delivered!
What a spectacular saving for a secondhand one! NOT

The fact remains, though, that you aren't going to get any Freeview HD at all with one of these. The new Humax Freeview HD box gets a mention here:

A quality machine and the price I am sure is about to plummet. They are just starting to clear the stocks in preparation.

but that isn't a PVR which will probably be a year off for HD. Also there are only BBC, ITV and CH4 on freeview HD!

So maybe the answer's Freesat and a Humax Foxsat-HDR 320GB, which gives the best of both worlds - if you can cope with the shame of a satellite dish on the house.

John Lewis look to have one of the better deals, at £321 for the PVR + installation. Still thinking about it. One of the great things about Freeview and Freesat is that it's providing a decent alternative to the loathsome Murdoch. ;-)

Freeview HD started broadcasting in the UK on 3 December, but only from London's Crystal Palace and Manchester's Winter Hill transmitters.
Freeview HD transmissions will begin in December 2009 in London and then roll out to Birmingham, Glasgow, Leeds/Bradford and Newcastle in spring 2010 - bringing Freeview HD to 50% of the UK population, in time for the football World Cup.

The rest of the country will start to receive Freeview HD in line with their digital switchover dates.

I'm very happy with my Humax 9200, 9150 & 9300 for now:thumbsup:
