This has been a little cheaper at Tesco, but not in the last month (I don't think) as I have been waiting and watching. Use the voucher code TDX-KMAW (thanks melisa007) to get it delivered to store for this price.

Very much doubt you can do better with 70 quid - I have a Humax 9300 for freeview and a basic Humax HD box for freesat and both are superb. Love the brand!

Would rather go got http://direct.tesco.com/q/R.210-8284.aspx as it's got twin tuners and double capacity, but good spot!!! :)

I thouhg't I'd read you can only record one and watch another, don't twin tuners allow you to record two at the same time?

Yes, you can record two at the same time but you cant watch a 3rd channel ;)

Cheers ordered for Mum its about time she upgraded her Hitachi VCR :)

my humax 9200 still going strong, awesome and reliable PVR. puts other cheaper brands to shame.

The dearer Humax 9300T (320gb) on the link above also has HDMI connection unlike this one, so some may prefer that model

I read somewhere that the 9300T has a better picture using scart rather than HDMI. I tried it and think it may be true. It certainly isn't worse, and frees up an HDMI input :)

yes sorry did mean 9300 thanks it also says no remote control on phone to tesco now trying to find out if it does have one no use without it. They have just said that they don't think it does come with one and that is why it doesn't have the live record etc i will leave this one then

That is total rubbish, it does of course have a remote control, and live pause etc...Do they think we walk to the telly each time we want to change channel?
#24
Forget Tesco, go direct - the refurb models are nearly always new condition, I've bought 4:

Thay said that is why it is a refurb so dont want to take the chance as new remote is around £20 so may as well just get form Humax direct

Not my definition of refurb but there you go. I'd advise buying direct still :)

If it doesn't come with a remote take it back to the store for a refund. simples.

Pretty much 100% that it will have a remote though. You can't use it otherwise.

Not sure if you can take it back if it states in the description that it has no remote control the one the post was originally for says it has remote and series link so it doesnt look like a mistake

Distance selling regulations, or if you collect from store simply don't accept.

Sorry realised you were talking about the 9300t. But as i said take it back if it doesn't have one - it isn't fit for purpose as you can't use it without one.

What is MUX oO

I have a very old Humax on the very old TV downstairs and it pauses live TV , rewind etc.

Only since the digital switchover, it has never worked properly. Records when it feels like it, intermittent remote problems / delays etc. (we had whole new arial set up just before the digital switchover and have retuned, reloaded, tried everything). Have been told it is not Humax problem but a signal prob (but worked perfect before the switchover)

Treated myself to big TV in bedroom last month, already has freeview but cannot survive with no recorder or rewind :D so I am tempted by this. Don't need freeview included and never use games etc. However, a bit wary after previous problems

A MUX is the range of channels that share the same part of the signal so for example if bbc1 and bbc3 have mux 1 and itv is on mux 2 then you will be able to watch 1 of them and record 2.

so you only really need a recorder that records analog TV (i.e channels 1 to 5)
