#6

#7

Freesat HD/Freeview HD means Freeview in HD

Good deal. But the 9300 has a bigger hard drive and uses HDMI to upscale the picture, and has display with a clock. But if your not bothered about that, and just want to use scart. This is the way to go.

Before I upgraded to the 9300, I got the 9150 from argos for £99 brand new. Just a shame humax couldn't have sold them all at that price.

I have one of these unused as there is no optical out for the sound. Ended up buying the Humax 9300T as a replacement for a Humax 9200. All good machines.

9300 is 119.99

I only have one HDMI lead which I use for my PS3. I could switch them over yes. I would rather it were in HDMI too.

Good machines and great service on refurbs. No problems with mine which have been brilliant

You still got that unused one?

HDMI up scaling on the 9300 is not good I use the scart connector and let the TV up scale the picture

See the forums a lot of people connect it this way

Yes I got it 2 years ago I think xmas eve from Argos. As the 9200 had started to play up only used it for a week. Did not want any problems with the wife's recordings over Xmas

Been this price for a while , definately worth paying the little extra for the 9300 , double the Hard Drive and HDMI .........
#23
I've got two of these. They're very good, but not perfect. They do miss the odd recording. I'd say it gets it right about 97-98% of the time.
#24
I have the 9200t and its brill, the recorded picture quality is off-air and it has a buffer which records the channel your watching automatically for upto 2 hours (good if you fall asleep like me), Humax are bringing out updates (not like some) which iron out any bugs and also give you extra facilitys, my mate bought a refurb and its been very good, for this price its very hot ! 8)

brilliant product, we have one and very happy with it, so much so we stuck with humax when buying a freestat box.

if you are not thinking of going down the HD route just yet, then can recommend this product at a what is a great price, you wont regret it

if you are wanting to get an HD picture, then you might as well save the money towards a freeview HD or freestat recordable version, although that will probably cost 3 x as much, or buy this one as well as a spare!

Where's the 9300 available for 120? Just had a quick google, and couldn't see it that cheap. Knackered tho, so apologies if it's blinkin' obvious.

Edit: Aha. It is! But only when you click Grade A on the product (assuming it'll tell you what Grade A is) and get a random list of other Grade A products, including this, rather than the main 9300 link. Anyway, I digress... link is here:

That's the fault of the broadcaster sending the wrong times or not sending them, not the humax.

I got got a product direct from humax over a month ago, no problems. The site is safe, you do get next day delivery as well.

I bought a TV (when they still sold them) from Humax last year - no problems with delivery.
#29
does anyone know if they do something like this, but with a dvd attatched?
#30
It's the best thing I have ever bought for £15 on car boot sale! LOL
#31
I purchased a refurbed box from Humax direct and it's worked perfectly the only poor thing is the instructions that come with them are a bit hard to follow! but once you work it outs it's easy peasy!
My refurbed box came boxed and all in it's plastic wrapping as if it were brand new, I'd never have known except for the price being so much cheaper!!

Humax no, other manufactures yes
#33
Still using my trusty 8000T Humax that I bought in 2004. When I can afford a replacement it will be another Humax.

When I bought it I was mocked as they were relatively unknown and it didn't have Panasonic/Sony etc. slapped on the front.

Why?

A decent TV will upscale the picture the same anyway! Bit of a misconception that HDMI means better upscaling.

'Twin Digital Tuner, can record 2 channels whilst viewing a third'

Surely not. Would it not need to be Triple Digital Tuner to achieve this?

Good price though.

It all depends, I believe there are three tuners just in case you want to watch third channel from third mux, if the channels are all within the same mux, only one tuner would do.
That PVR does not restrict you to a certain channel when recording other two, so it must have three tuners built in.

Only two tuners - they mean that you watch the third channel on your TV, using the TV tuner.

These Humax machines are good machines, though - been using them for years. Totally transform the way you watch TV. I'd go for the 9300 though for the 320GB hard drive (twice the size). £160 or so at Richer Sounds with another £15 or so for a 5 year warranty (refundable if you don't use it).

I've recorded 2 shows and watched a 3rd. You are limited as to what you can watch (something to do with being on the same MUX i guess?!?!?!)

do any of the Humax boxes (particularly the HD ones) have an output like the Sky HD box? as I'd like to use a magic eye from one in another room if poss :|

Sorry they don't you can indeed watch a third channel but only if the 2 channels you are recording are on the same mux you can then watch ANY other channel. If the Two channels are on different mux’s, then you can watch a different channel from one of the mux’s being used to record you’re selected channels.
