How can a fire be chavvy? Ridiculous! Everyone is entitled to decorate their home to their own taste. The people who feel the need to judge are obviously snobs!
#12
the aldi one is prob better has it has the remote to adjust the flame effect, which we have,
real reflecting flame effect is switched on its own, we dont use the fire 'for heat' as we only use it for the flame effect, looks very smart on the wall.
will say after 4-5months use it got very noisey when the flame effect was on that we had to turn the sound up on tv, but hubby put some padding on the little motor that turns the gadget that moves the flame effect and its stopped the noise completely
hope this helps someone if yours makes a loud humming noise.

heat added

the people who say they are chavy are proberly the ones with horrible fireplaces and are only jealous they can afford them or have the artistic skills to have beautiful homes!!!!
#14
meant can not afford sorry

Is it a light? (electric)? Or does it use those expensive alcohol cartridges?
With respect to the chav comments, maybe I can explain....
It is form without function so it is a little chavtastic.
A fire looks like a fire because of what it does and how it works.
This isn't a fire, and so has no purpose looking like one.

its a good price for a flame effect electric heater, though maybe not authentic enough for the beardie weirdie types out there

It is Chavtastic. Will go nicely with a feature wall, a cityscape picture of New York and some burberry to complete the effect lol.

Chavtastic? WTF?!

Do us a favour mate and post us a picture up on here of the front of your house so we can all have a big laugh at it.

So saying it is 'Chavtastic' and will go nicely with a feature wall, a cityscape picture of New York and some burberry isn't trying to be offensive?

How many stereotypes do you want to make?

Or if you want flames, put something with actual flames in there, such as a real gas fire, real electric fire or woodburner. I believe these are a cheap fad and will pass. I wouldn't buy a house if it had one in.

A real electric fire?!!!!

I was hoping for a bit of witty banter about the product. Although not to my tastes, I didn't realise people thought highly of these products. I'll keep my views to myself as we are all different. And apologies for any offense caused.

And a Veyron is a direct descendent of a Model T. What's your point?
#24
#25
So you will get out of your Veyron and warm your hands on this? That's the point

I've bought some for the servants' quarters. They so delighted.

Flwaed logic I'm afraid. Pointing out that this electric fire is a direct descendent of the fire you linked to is pointless. You may as well post a picture of a cave and say that a house is a direct descendent, or a picture of an ape and say that humans are a direct descendent.

If you are trying to have a pop at the deal for some reason, then I'm still at a loss to see why or how you would have achieved this...

Poundstretcher had several wall-mounted fires recently, and prob still has them. Mostly £99 or so and quality was fine, especially the Hyundai models (originally priced at £200+). If these Netto fires are similar, they are worth looking at. This type of fire usually has two heat settings: 1kW and 2kW. They are quite easy to fit and can be connected via 13A plug.

I assume that Flwaed means "sound" in your language. Thanks for the support. A pretend fire, emanating from white pebbles and stuck on the wall is just not my cup of tea. If you like it then fine. I imagine that most members would have understood my light heartedpoint though.

Ah, the good old "pull them up on a typo" routine. The last refuge of the argument's loser. :(

Does this actually give heat or is it a gimmick. And surely elec bills will be sky high

Plagiarising Samuel Johnson are we? Lastly do you actually intend to buy one of these contraptions you're championing? I doubt it. Just trawling posts falling out with other members. (_;)
