Funnily enough I was just wondering if Hungry House would so something like this. Was considering a take-away but this has convinced me. Thanks scottydoobuy!

OP, the link you provided is incorrect.

However, if you do post the correct one then it'll be spammed unfortunately as special offer links via Hungryhouse emails contain referral links, which aren't allowed on here - I have had them removed several times before.

Anyone who wants this discount will have to click through the link provided by Hungryhouse on the email sent to them.

No, not new. Not only was the one that was noticed by a mod spammed, all the hungryhouse ones I'd ever posted with email links that had expired were spammed too :(

I can see only one previous Hungryhouse deal from you in your history, so the others must have been spammed and that one slipped through?

Hardly any Chinese takeaways in my area on HH too - I think it's because they've all joined http://www.bigfoodie.co.uk instead, which is just Chinese takeaways.

so i just got the email from HH about this deal, i go onto HH to browse the takeaways and 9/10 have switched to collection only
i assume this has something to do with the 45 minute rule they brought in recently?
this is pants, id rather have my dinner take longer to arrive than not be able to order at all due to having to collect :(

Wouldn't touch Hungry House with a barge pole.
Ordered takeaway last night. Money taken. Order then refused by take away. Money will not be refunded for three days. So ultimately no food and no money. Called them to discuss only to have the misfortune of speaking to a total numpty who couldn't care less.
Will never use again.

Money is refunded instantly it takes three days to return in your account, that's the banking system for you. Used them for years and will defiantly continue to!

But surely money should not be taken until order is accepted, just like any other online retailer?

The money is kept in your Hungryhouse account for a few hours so if you order again with a different takeaway you can use the money already debited from you card. If you don't reorder then it just gets refunded back to your card.

The same happens on Just Eat too, my son was very annoyed at it happening to him last week. He didn't have enough left in his account to order another takeaway either! Though I do agree that Hungry House are dreadful, I only ever use them with codes like this and even then there is usually some problem.

Considering they take 15℅ from all sales from the takeaways its very generous of them to pay 9% from their own pocket.

Your mistaken HungryHouse only charge the takeaway 9% per order. Promotions like this come out of there own pocket. Just-eat on the other hand...

My sister used to work as a waitress and barmaid at a Hungry Horse.

To say the things she had to say about them were not nice is a complete understatement.

But, hot for the discount.

pity can't order my favourite curry today, i have the ****.

Was tempted, until I discovered that the prices were more on HH than in the takeaway (or by phone) plus there was an extra charge for delivery (normally free over certain amount) and then another charge to pay by debit card. I'm just not that hungry. XD
