Bargain for a great film - even better on BD.

Rented this over the weekend, put off watching it because of all the hype.

It lives up to it easily.

Great film, great actors. Nothing like a real EOD Bomb Disposal Engineer though.

US department of defence partly funded picture. 'Influenced' to glorify war, increase public support and recruit new meat. They have a panel of people who check the movie and give 'direction' so it paints the US Army in a favourable way, if they dont comply the directors and producers etc dont get a very meaty kick back. If you think im a conspiracy nut then do some research, the facts are all out in the open, they even admit it quite freely. Happens with loads of war movies, very unethical.

But it is a very good movie, I just chose to download it free, rather than financing people without any ethics.

Now if thats not a b*llsh*t excuse for piracy I dont know what is. Your happy to steal from others yet you blame it on others not having any ethics.

Phew, thought it was just me who didnt like it.
I am voting hot as the deal is good, just not a 'great film' IMO!

Im sorry, but its a very boring film. The best bit is the shootout with the barret, although I dont like the fact that the americans have to save the brits. I cant believe this won awards. Good war films are Breaker Morant, Saving Private Ryan, All quiet on the Western Front, Zulu, Apocalypse Now, My Boy Jack and even Green Zone is far better than this. The Russian made set in soviet era Afghanistan film 9th company is good.

If you don't want to trek it to Asda to buy in store (as it's £5.93 online) then you can purchase at HMV online for £3 also - click here.
