But would take about 3 days longer for delivery. I'd go Play and have heard this is a fantastic film.

This film is very medicore! it wont beat Black Hawk Down.

it's an ok film, certainly watchable and the director did a great job with different style of photography.

not quite sure why it won the Bafta though
#5
I enjoyed this film a lot, on par with Black Hawk Down for war films IMO.

Also from here: http://hmv.com/hmvweb/simpleMultiSearch.do?searchUID=&pGroupID=blu-ray&adultFlag=false&primaryID=blu-ray&simpleSearchString=hurt+locker

£11.99 and in my experience quicker than play and 5% Quidco vs. 4% at Play and you get HMV Pure points (if that's important to you)

Voted bland.

£11.98 from Amazon.
£11.95 from Zavi.

Mind you, it costs a bomb at cdwow: £17.99.

BHD is very under-rated!

more suspense than action. A lot less raw action than Black Hawk Down, but still enjoyable film.

No idea why this was up for any awards really, it's not that good.

If you want to watch something Iraq War-based that is truly excellent, then spend an extra fiver and go for the 7 part mini-series Generation Kill: £16.98 @ Amazon

Can somebody please enlighten me as to why this movie has received such critical acclaim ?

ive watched it and really cant understand why people think it was so good

it was so average imo, infact dull and sometimes cliched
#14

Can only think that it's because it's one of the only movies the US have made about Iraq.

Or maybe it's because, deep down, everyone knows Point Break is one of the greatest movies ever made and it's surrogate reward for having given us that. :p

Not true, watch Generation Kill from HBO which is basically an extended film/ mini-series about the Iraq invasion
Was far superior to this - really brought home the whole idiocy and chaos of warfare

Yeah, mentioned that a few posts back. Talking mainstream cinema wise though, GK was a TV series.

In fact, I think if you've seen GK, then that's half of what will have turned you off Hurt Locker as it p**ses on it from a great height.

I wouldnt say mediocore but black hawk down is a better film!

I blindly followed the wave of critical acclaim for this and rushed to get it on Blu-Ray when it first came out. Unfortunately I was massively underwelmed. This isn't a touch on Black Hawk Down in my opinion, if you are genuinely interested in the Iraq War have a look for the little known 'Battle for Haditha' or as already mentioned 'Generation Kill'.

This is a good price for a pretty recently-released Blu-Ray however.

dreadful film & completely unrealistic as well - as you'll see at all the bad reviews from people who have served out there on imdb.
One of the few films I watched where I hoped the main character would die!!

generation kill was much better!
