Are the shelves adjustable on height of fixed spacing?
#5
Shame they can't be bought online, would be good for the shed or greenhouse

This is really cheap. But does anyone know anywhere else selling these? I can't get to an Ikea as it's too far.

The next best thing I can find is this,
wilkinsonplus.com but it's plastic and £12.99

just noticed wilkinson's also have these : link

Looks great, now I just need a shed to put them in - has to be max 7' x 3' with the door(s) on the long side, any suggestions?
#14
Great price. 25kg per shelf max weight in case you are using for very heavy stuff, but fine for most people's garages/sheds

For those who prefer wood they also do a similar wooden unit which we have in our utility room which takes similar weight but slightly dearer at £11.99 http://www.ikea.com/gb/en/catalog/products/00111994

nice one was hoping for a post like that . repped
#16
.... how robust are they?

Has anyone one together yet? From experience, some of the cheaper Ikea products can be a bit flimsy with weak fixings that warp when a bit of pressure / weight is put on them. Wouldnt mind some for the garage if they bolt together well.

I've got some wire adjustable shelving for the garage in the past from Argos
(Link is: www.argos.co.uk/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Search?storeId=10001&catalogId=1500002201&langId=-1&searchTerms=7001057 Item number is 700/1057 if the link doesn't work)
They are not cheap (£24.89 at the moment) but fairly good quality and the adjustable height is useful. They do seem to drop in price to £20ish regularly when they have a sale.

Don't get me wrong I wish I'd known about the the IKEA deal before forking out a horrendous amount of money on these Argos shelves but if you can't get to IKEA they are good quality.

Wow, that's cheap! Problem is for me, weight loading and fixed shelf sizes.

I'm planning on building my own garage racking using the same stuff they use to build the picking racks in all the Toyota car plants. Not quite as cheap, but heavy duty steel pipe, fully adjustable / reusable and should carry about 200kg per rack, no problems. Designing it to house plastic tote boxes, tool kit and lawn mower.

I've got 8 in my garage, and they haven't warped with anything I've put on them (heavy boxes of cables, paperwork etc).

Nice one, thanks OP

A car...INSIDE the garage....nah mate, you're having me on aren't you? Who'd ever come up with such crazy talk?!

:whistling:
#26
My car has never been in my garage. Not once.

Good spot.
Go early n get a cheep brecky too. :-D
#28
finally a reasonable price!
always looked at them but stayed clear because of extortionate price.
Last summer i built one myself with timber taken from an old roof, but i think i'll go for a couple of these to sort out shed once and for all.
#29
I got these last year. They do the job well. Bit fiddly to put together but once all the screws are tight it stands okay.

Can't complain for the price, they are a bargain. Some people spend £15,000 building brick sheds/garage but do they have £15,000 worth of stuff to put in the shed!
#30
Good price but Tiny at 60mm wide & 1400mm high.

Note that importantly it is galv.

Perhaps not, but they do increase the value of a property by around that figure (And more) and make it infinitely more saleable.

2/3rds the height and plastic?

Plastic ones are very strong and also ideal for the shed where damp might creep in.

Most of them can be stacked (I.e. 3 shelves on top of 3 shelves =6)

The wilkos ones are not that great, they dont push ito each other very well (poor quality moulding) and over winter the ones in ours have cracked on the joints, damp isnt a problem anyway with galvanised metal.
#35
Nowhere near as cheap, but a very good price for someone looking for a more robust set of shelves, normally £50 or thereabouts (£33.32 now):

http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/7000663/Trail/searchtext%3ESHELVING.htm

Metal frame, board shelves. 150kg load per shelf. 750kg total.
#36
These flex a bit but if they're fixed to the wall as the instructions state I think you won't have any issues. They also do wooden ones for about £14.99.
#37
just found this on the search, slighty dearer at £8 now but just what i need. going to collect 3 later.
