Looks a very good price, but I had a Hyundai 42" plasma, had a great picture and terrible sound, but the panel failed after only three years so I personally wouldn't have another Hyundai, although lcd should easily outlast a plasma.

Still price is hot

Worth keeping an eye on scan.co .uk - deal of the day as they sell this model I bought the 32" on deal of the day for £330 and have been pleased with it - also on the forums how to join scan forum and get free delivery - but only worth on offer of the day as about £550 at the mo

Found a few more customer reviews here. Mostly positive. Sounds a good price for the size to me.

great price but only 1 HDMI socket

good price but hate play.com. there latest scam was the Sharp 32" tv. I know i am calling it scam as the way they cancelled it , it was same typical Play.
#8
i know scam is a hard judgement , but i feel bad too
why did play not stock up at such a low price
what about market research:oops:

my sharp is in the post.. i reckon they just ran out of stock. wouldn't call it a "scam"

You must be lucky to get one.the problem was not about how many items they had in stock but with there cancellation email which says "We regret to inform you that one or more titles you have ordered from us has been withdrawn from general release. Your order has been cancelled and you may rest assured that you will not be charged." now that doesn't suggest that they are on low stock but are just trying to manipulate the things. I am sure it will be back in stock at higher price sometime soon like nokia tablet.

Why is the RRP in the title? I would have thought the only price needed was how much it would cost you! RRP is pointless anyway.

Possibly to increase the heat :p

Totally agree with you. I hate play.com after that Scam as well.

OK took the plunge and had to go through Play's extra security checks. So will now wait and see.
Anybody know where to get a wall mount stand for it and if any generic ones will work.

Well on Pansonic's site they state:

" * Which technology has the longer life span Plasma or LCD?

The life span for both is dependent on viewing habits, but if both are watched for the same duration, one would expect the life span to be approximately the same, 60 000 hours, roughly twice the life span of older CRT technology."

I had heard that LCDs had longer life span but I guess someone making both should know or for an alternative view....

AVReview says:

"Round 3 - Life span
LCDs tend to have more stamina with most models offering around 60,000 hours of watching - that's 20 years worth if you watch four hours of TV every day. And the fluorescent light source can be replaced, although it's expensive and by the time the light runs down you'll probably want a new screen anyway.
Early plasmas were limited to around 30,000 hours of life but some of the latest models are claiming double that. However, as very high voltages are required to control electrons, plasmas consume up to 30% more power than LCDs.

Verdict: LCD wins - greater stami"

So looks like it used to be true but isn't with later models.

The "Buy" link has gone from the page. Doesn't say if this is temporary whilst they get more stock.

Too good to be true; they cancelled my order (or to be more precise I chased the order and they said they were not able to get any and they think they all had to be sent back). I wanted to believe that Play weren't a bunch of cowboys as suggested in another LCD post however it looks like they were right.

Terrible customer service, not even the decency to tell me there was a problem. I would recommend that people think twice before ordering anything from Play. Shame, they were always releable for CD/DVDs.

Was anybody successful in getting one actually shipped?
