As this is HDCP then you may be able to run this as a cheap TV by plugging in a DVI to HDMI cable to a freeview or DVD player (that have HDMI ports of course :o )

no sound if you do....

I have a question regarding HDMI/DVI/HDCP, and any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have a Sanyo DVD recorder / Freeview receiver with HDMI output, which I picked up as "untested" and in fact works fine bar the front flap being missing. I'd like to use this in conjunction with something like the above monitor for the back-room (sound would be provided through a stereo system so that's no problem as the Sanyo has audio outs).

I was under the impression that the monitor would have to support 50Hz as well as HDCP and the correct resolution for 720p in order to accept the output from the recorder. Is this correct, and are there any other problems I should be aware of?

Thanks for any assistance :)
