I calculated import duty at £13, if you end up having to pay at all. So potentially could cost £78.

I've no idea to be honest, but they can't be any worse than any of the other generic chinese tablets at the moment surely?

No it no longer has anything to do with Hyundai Group. It's an electronics division of SK Hynix (2nd largest memory manufacturer in the world)

That will be the same Hyundia that make those Hyundia cheap batteries sold in the Poundland and 99p stores then.

guys I have been looking for a tablet for my 6 year old, and i come to a decision that im better off paying that little bit more for a tablet that is FROM THE UK and taxes are paid etc,and it is a good branded make. There is too many of these tabs coming from china and people having nightmares with them etc!!!!

You would be better of getting one of these for the kids and have the reinsurance of Misco customer support and warranty.

how long will it take of the delivery? 2 weeks or more? thx

Not worth it at all once you factor in it will be more like £90 if you get hit by customs and even if you don't it will basically have no warranty due to the cost of returning it to china.

If you get caught for duty, it's not just the vat, you also pay the post office 'admin fee' aka daylight robbery...

Yeah, 65 quid seems like a good price for this but that's only if it passes through customs unnoticed and if there are no problems with the unit. If this was from a UK seller I'd be all over it.

I bought a cheap tablet from China at the start of last year and it's one of the best purchases I've bought. It does everything I need it to do and it's still going strong. Perhaps there is a chance that you'll get stung by customs but I'm willing to bet that it's only a very small percentage of people that do. I hear a lot of scaremongering comments from people warning that you could end up getting caught and then having to pay x amount but I don't think I've heard of one person that has actually had to pay duty. I'd say it's worth the risk myself because to get an equivalent tablet in the UK is much pricier.

As for this tablet, the specs look great for the price so definitely a hot deal. I mostly have mine connected to my TV via HDMI because there's so much you can do with it. You just need a wireless keyboard/mouse and Bob's your uncle. This tablet is about £20 more than the Android TV USB keys that you can buy but you've got portability with this, plus there are a lot of problems reported with those Android USB keys.

Same thing. TF terminology is the old name for SD.

I don't know anything about tablets but Play.com seem to do some decent ice cream sandwich ones for around the 60 quid mark?

http://www.play.com/Search.html?searchstring=tablet+pc&searchsource=0&searchtype=allproducts

( Including that Rapid one £5 cheaper I think! ..... I like the pink ones though (_;) )

Whilst this is true you may be stung for VAT which you will have to pay if customs open your package. But 90% of packages from China get through without being stopped and opened so it's well worth the gamble.

How is it possible for this tablet to support 1080p when it has a resolution of 1024x600? How many of the other specs are entirely fictional?
