i-DOG is now just £5 delivered @ Play.com !

Bargain price and another chance to grab this if you missed Amazon-Hellmann offer @ £8. Dont know why Play.com prefers to call this as E-DOG !

They look cool, but do i really need one!? :giggle:
#3
Good price, dont look as impressive when you get them though - ordered one and was quite disappointed.

Note that these things are pretty power hungry when it comes to batteries.. mind you, everyone at work plays with mine so that might play some part
#5
Pretty pointless, kids got bored of it very quickly. Get them Nintendogs for the DS lite instead ;-)
#6
yes but nice one to pad up presents for birthdays of all ages
#7
what size is this? bigger than a fist?
#9
These were also available in my local asdas a few weeks ago, for just £5. Worth a look if your going or live close to asdas.

>'Dont know why Play.com prefers to call this as E-DOG !'

It says in the description a little further down on the page the following:

'You've met the i-Dog, now meet his brother, the E-Dog!

E-Dog is the brand new groovy pooch that's......'

Maybe that is why its not called the I-DOG -maybe a different model?
#11
Thanks talksr :)

Features looks the same as i-Dog ... may be rechristened ?

If i remember rightly Apple spent some of last year chasing companys who use the "i" in there products if they are not directly ipod related.. I guess maybe thats why the "E" was used.

Manufacturer's Description

i-Dog(e-Dog) – Begging For the Beat! i-Dog (e-Dog) is the brand new groovy pooch that’s ready to rock-out to whatever tune you’re playing! Plug your music player into him and he will act as a portable speaker so whether you are at home or out and about you can listen to your favourite tunes wherever you go.i-Dog (e-Dog) loves to groove and can respond to any sound source – simply place him next to a speaker and let him get down or plug in your personal MP3 or CD player and watch him go.
http://images.amazon.com/images/G/02/uk-toys/cdp/idogcolour.jpg
i-Dog’s(e-Dog) mood changes depending on the kind of music you play – if you want to rock he’ll show some attitude and flash his red LEDs in a ‘mean n moody’ way. You want to chill and he’ll relax into the vibe, expressing himself with some mellow dancing and soft green and yellow LEDs.

i-Dog (e-Dog) needs your love too – give him a pat on the head and he’ll love you right back. But don’t flick his tail – you won’t like him when you flick his tail! And be warned – you’ve got to keep ‘feeding’ him more music! If you don’t he’ll bark to let you know he’s hungry for more.

the cat is actually better, got my DD & DS one of each for christmas (£7.99 at the time from amazon) and they argued over them, as DD said DS's cat was better than her dog. The cat has more sensors

Play sells both e-dog & i-dog for £5 (i-dog blue (£8.99). The same with the cat, i-cat £9.99 or e-cat £5.
Thanks to original poster, ordered e-cat for my kid:thumbsup:
#24

stroke, poke, flick some tail.reminds me of an ex.
#25
Thanks Edi... great post. :)

Just to let you all know. The i-dogs in blue and silver on play.com are the Puppy version, which are smaller.
#26
Ordered one aswell, A guy at work had one at christmas and he paid £30 so a fiver is a great buy, good find
#27
Great post, just bagged a couple. Voted hot.

A bit more on these, e-dogs are how they are branded in Germany and the Netherlands, so i assume that thats where Play.com are getting these from. Also, they are made by Sega, i'm sure most of you have heard of them, if not then they are behind Sonic The Hedgehog.

On another note, Play also have the i-fish at a reasonable £12.99. In my opinion this is a much better deal than the i-dog.

I got my sister the fish for xmas, and it actually spins around about 340* and slaps its tail which lights up quite spectacularly.

Obviously Sega think so too, as its RRP is £10 dearer.

cat now on site for £5 as well
#31
Well i know £5.00 is a great price...but I have had one of these and to say they are "rubbish" is an understatement they are bobbins.....

Thanks H

My boyfriend bought me one of these for Christmas. It kept me amused for a while, I do love a gadget!! I got bored of it quite quickly, as its a bit limited as to what it can actually do. I still think they r worth it for a fiver, especially for the kids. Great stocking filler or bday gift maybe?? Voted hot cos i know my boyf paid more than double!! ;o)
#33
still around...
#34
took me a while to work out the difference between i-dog pup, e-dog and e-cat! all £5 on play but all a bit different. went for the e-cat as it has sensors on its' face which look cool, but the dog waggles its ears :) cheers OP

quite cool.learns a few chords of oft repeated songs which suprised.sucks the death out of batteries beyond belief, but still fun at 5 quid for an evening .
