Great little phone ,I bought one a few months back from Expansys .Only today ,I was going through it's original box and found a TV cable I had forgotton about .Plugged it into the bottom of the phone and the other end into the composite sockets on the TV ,pressed Fn + Tab and the phone screen came on the TV. I started TomTom and after a couple of minutes the satnav came on to the telly . Handy if you want to show your videos or pictures to the family . Anyway ,it's a good phone and I've had no problems with it and it seems very reliable .

Hmmm no warranty no wifi. Good deal and price for unlocked phone but the lack of a warranty will put many off I think.

Traders can not absolve themselves from your statutory rights, so I dont know how they can say no warranty.

Not sure they can do that can they? If brand new, by law has to have 12 months surely?

Well, I ran the free upgrade to 6.1 and work happily with a 8GB card. They say no warranty but there is the sale of goods act.

ignore the naysayers, this is a very good phone for the money. i'm posting this reply with mine! upgrade to the 6.1 ROM, slap in an 8 gig micro sdhc card and you're away. it even comes with a very nice case. ignore the tosh about no warranty, this is expansys trying it on.

I suppose it is just their way of telling you your ARE going to have to go to the County Court to get your money back!

Does nothing to inspire confidence in Expansys though... not that I was left confident after they took extra from my credit card without even so much as telling me! A company I now avoid like Leprosy.

I absolutely agree with the above. I bought this first time around on here, and have been very impressed with my purchase. Wireless, bluetooth and GPS are very effective, and the keyboard is as easy to use as a BlackBerry, i.m.o.

I'm using mine with the recent T-Mobile "buy £10 per month - get free texts/free internet next month offer", and can even tether the phone to my laptop as an external HSDPA modem on this service.

Be aware that IMate have folded recently - but that does not concern me.

Just noticed the price has gone up by £10 sometime after 7am this morning, the total now is £116.60 as nihcaj has mentioned, I would say it is still quite a good price.

Is the GPS built in or does it require the external receiver?

Warranties are derived from manufacturers. Presumably, Expansys got this as a cheap lot sold as seen from whomever was dumping this, with no returns. Nothing to stop Expansys giving its own warranty on this, but that would only push up the price and make this phone less attractive.

Just spotted the post above that i-mate is no more. That would explain the lack of warranty. Pot luck that you don't get a lemon that packs in a few months down the line.

At least this is not ebay :p
have bought many used second hand i-mate products and still running fine today

I thought warranty is with the retailer under sale of goods act. It should not make any difference if i-mate have gone bust or what price Expanys have paid for them.

Just came across this http://www.amazon.co.uk/i-mate-100POL9D10A-Ultimate-8502-Smartphone/dp/B00170O49K
Maybe u cud get some sort of warranty cover by purchasing from Expansy via Amazon or at least get your money back if u have any problems under Amazons a to z refund policy. i had a problem with a market place seller via amazon a few years ago, they would not give me a refund for faulty goods and A mazon stepped in and payed me back every penny!

Unless anyone knows more:thinking:
Also postage is a few quid less:thumbsup:

Expansy say this on Amazon with no mention of a warranty period one way or the other!!!

Warranty is something offered over and above your statutory rights. Retailers can improve on but cannot limit them. All you have is the SoGA to protect you.
