Went into my local Argos store today - they are known for their managers specials, they had a few 16GB I-Pod Touch's for £127.29 - cheapest I've seen them anywhere. I managed to pic one up and will scan the receipt in a min- I'm not sure but think this might be limited to the Knaresborough (North Yorkshire) Store

Why cold people? I know it's local but I haven't seen one cheaper than this
#3
You seem to spend a lot of time and money in Argos;-)
#4
Its cold because nobody else can get them.
#5
I admit not everyone can get it, and I did state it is local - but that doesn't mean its not a deal IMO?
#6
Ill vote hot, if i could get one id pay £130, none on the website, dont think Ill bother to visit my local store
#7
sounds good to me, no sour grapes just because its local...it may be elsewhere and I am sure other HUKD enthusiasts live near Knaresborough.
But seems u cant please everyone.... especially on the site, so
enjoy your ipod OP and well done, voted hot from me and a lil rep too

Where is the date on the receipt ?? Dont like to sound bad but the product codes dont even exist anymore which i thought was maybe an old receipt you had used or something
#10
date is on the bottom of the receipt - covered up as my credit card details are on there. I'm at work at the moment otherwise would re-scan. I can assurre you I bought this yesterday from Argos in Knaresborough. If you want to check then give them a call, as for why the product code is different I do not know - possibly because its a managers special?
#11
the ds is not on there site at that price!
#12
The DS Lite was another "managers special" see my post http://www.hotukdeals.com/item/335039/nintendo-ds-lite-73-39-argos if you skip all of the comments doubting me then read the last couple by a person who works at Argos they will confirm that these are products which have been returned as faulty but when tested have no faults. And therefore you get a discount
#13
This is not a managers special, i can tell you that for nothing. Those cataloge numbers aren't valid AT ALL and there is no chance any manager would reduce the price of a DS or ipod touch to that price.

This is a fake receipt, ask at any argos store.

Hayley - it is not a fake receipt I do not understand why everyone is doubting me. Below are 3 images - 1 is the original receipt with my credit card details blanked out (for obvious reasons) the other 2 are of the 2 products on the receipt with the item codes clearly showing. Hope this finally puts an end to all the doubters

Because i work for argos, so i know the catalogue numbers arent valid. Also, if they were going to be reduced under a managers special offer they have to be reduced on the catalogue number they are meant to be

for the ipod its 513/8496
for the DS its 568/1857

They cant be sold under any other number incase there is an issue with the stock ie repairs or refunds in other stores.

Me and my manager have both seen this post and we know it cant be real.

Hayley - I really dont undertand you it is real and there would be no point in me posting it if it were not real. As for you and you manager I hate to inform you that you are wrong. Perhaps you could contact the manager of the Knaresborough store to confirm I am infact telling the truth. If it is not true then how do you explain the pictures and receipt?
#20
I think the difference is the OP has bought a first gen ipod touch, while item number 513/8496 is the newer, second gen ipod touch listed at £214.

I bought one of the first gens from Argos last year, and thought it was great value for the price! The OP is lucky his local still has them in stock.

Cosmicday3 - I can confrim you are telling the truth - I have just purchased same said Ipod Touch 8GB and it is definately the 2nd gen - its has the curved design and an oval shaped antanae panel on the back. As a rule I always check out the managers specials at Argos Knaresboro - my ipod nano and my wii were both purchased as specials and i have had no problem with either of them. There are excellent savings to be made and as you get the standard manufacturers warrany - there is no risk.

I didnt check out this forum and have come across this by accident just now - but feel bad that you are being slated for offering information on a brilliant deal to people.

If you go into store and type in the managers special code it actually tells you 39 are in stock - not sure how or why - as these scratch fairly easily its easy to tell if they have been out of the box and used - and mine i am 100% sure has come out of the box for the first time today!
BTW mine was actually £124.99 today.

Sorry - didnt read the 1st post - you were mentioning a 1st gen 16gb - so my reply not relevant really. still i think a 8gb 2nd gen touch for £125 is pretty good.
