Yes, it's a refurb... yes, it's a Medion... but for a PC with a 12 months guarantee it's extremely great value for money in my opinion. Will even run some games pretty well too! I think if you put an SSD boot drive in this you'd have a very decent machine.

I dont think the brand matters at all when it comes to PC.. Processors are mostly made by intel.. Rams are made by samsung crucial hynix kingston etc etc... Hard drives are made by wester digital.. Seagate etc etc... Brand of the pc is just a company that puts component manufacturer's parts together.. Therefore whether pc will last long or not doesn't necessarily have much to do with the brand... I think its more to do with the component manufacturers.. But then one thing u gotta take into consideration is the warranty you get.. I think thats the only thing i can think of that is to do with the "brand"

This will make a modest entry level gaming PC with no upgrades needed

Tried googling it but I'm still clueless - does anyone know if this would run Sims 4 at a reasonable level please? Mrs Bigtricky is gutted that it's not being ported to console and I don't want to spend a fortune on a computer for her to play one game maybe 2 hours a week! Any help appreciated

well this is stronger than the recommended requirements for sims 4 so should be able to run it pretty well.

The game's hardware requirements are quite low. People were able to play SIMS 4 on highest settings using 750ti. This pc is not a proper gaming rig but it will be more than enough for SIMS 4.

Well, it is B grade.
And Medion- so unreliable...
Medion warranty services are very poor. Will be waiting for 1-2 months for fixing and return of PC.
Would not recommend it to anyone, unless you wanna trouble.
#9
Is it not £229 as it says including VAT and shipping costs?

It'll play The Sims 4 perfectly fine. I've seen pretty crappy laptops running it on low-medium, so this would do it High easily!

Not to bad of a price for a no fuss PC for those that do not wish to build their own system.

A Medion, a refurbished one at that...PASS.

As a brand, Medion have always been superb for me - I've had three base units from them over something like 10 or 11 years and all were built well and still going strong.

Additionally, the refurbished units are quite often unused and either have damaged packaging, or have been used as demonstration models for third parties and still to all intents and purposes brand new. If you can find something similar for better money, by all means share - I suspect you're a brand snob though who can't find anything comparable for the price.

My uncles old medion base unit somehow made its way into my damp old shed and lay there for about 4 years. I pulled it out about a year ago, plugged it in and it powered up and worked flawlessly. Wiped it and passed it on to a friend in need of a PC and it's still being used today with no problems.

that doesn't even look that good as new ? I got a Acer revo with a slightly worse i3 chip and only 500gb for 200... I guess this can be upgraded easier but surely there is better out there ?

looks like a great deal ordered one you usually have to pay around this price for a similar machine without a GPU
#23
also my last machine was from medion too had it over 2 years 0 problems with it don't see why medion gets a bad name

I'm not saying anything about the quality having not owned one, but my self built PC from 2005 has been and still is running continuously for over 11 years, initially as a gaming rig, now as the media server in the basement, my current PC has been going for 3 years, again pretty much flat out...

fair enough if you upgraded it, but I wouldnt consider 2 years a good innings

EDIT: seems it was 2007, so 9 years, but still good going imo....

No, I can't. I just said it doesn't look good value. I wouldn't buy it if I were in the market for such a piece of kit.

Windows isn't fee, at least not Windows 10, unless you're in need of assistive technologies or if not, don't mind the machine annoying you with them, whilst using it.

Also why anybody cares about the brand of a PC is beyond me. They all use the same top manufactures of individual components, the name on the front changes nothing. I'd expect them to be better than me at building a PC and I built my own, with ease.

You cant build this PC with a i3 and a 750ti for this price anyway.

The i3 is around £100, as is the GPU. You could buy them second hand for cheaper but you wouldn't get the year warranty on offer here.

Exactly I was building my son a pc from xmas, even if I used the components, and replaced the case and PSU. id be saving a small fortune. Ive snapped one up ill post images when it arrives and upgrade options. but this is today only, so some may regret not buying it now.

My friend asked me to build him a PC for his office at home. I told him this would work out much cheaper and in fact I'd buy the graphics card for £50 and he could have the rest for £180.

I saw this last night and decided to sleep on it. Researching the components this morning this page popped up... Nearly shat my pants trying to place an order, worrying it might go out of stock. Looks like I got one though and didn't even have to change my underwear- bargain indeed!
