I would NEVER buy anything from scan again, I had to return something which cost 5.00 postage, it took 3 weeks to send another one, and then 3 people refused the postage, I then,, on my 5th call started yelling quoting trading standards, then they finally gave in.

5 calls lots of stress, and I am not the only person, TONS and TONS of reviews about their returns policy, and even read some were that they said the item was not faulty, and returned it back to the customer and charged his debit card saying they lost out.

WORST COMPANY EVER, And would never buy anything, just due to their returns policy.

Spend a little more and buy elsewere for the peace of mind

I've never had a problem with them really, though i've never had to return anything to them.

Looks very good for the money but no mention of a cpu heatsink?
The gpu and mobo are £322 on their own at Overclockers...

I'm another happy Scanner. Down to luck I suppose. Ebuyer have been a pain in the rectal region but lots of people sing their praises so they can't be all bad.

Agreed. Unlike some people I do plenty of research before I buy things. Make sure it's 100% what I need and that it's compatible. There's no other computer retailer in the country that can get something to me the very next day... FOR FREE!

I can't stress more about the Scansure policy though - especially when buying something like this. I've been building PC's for 10 years, and didn't bother with it a few weeks back for a motherboard I bought. Pins ended up snapping on the socket - I didn't even bother arguing with Scan as it happened during setup and I didn't have a case to argue. So bit the bullet and sent it to MSI for an RMA. If you went into Starbucks for a coffee and then dropped the drink on the way out, you wouldn't go back to the counter and ask for one free to replace it!

But you would ask for a replacement if it was 100% water...

You sent the mobo for an RMA directly... how does taking the seller out of the loop make it ok?
If you got the RMA, then Scan would have gotten the RMA too. If Scan put up a stink about it and refused, then your step should be to try the manufacturer, but you shouldn't skip the seller.

You are mixing up RMA with damage cause by the user. The scansure policy is an insurance, RMA is a warranty, the two are completely different.

I find it quite annoying that I bought a few 1tb samsung harddrives, dvd writer, a 2nd hand case and a psu already, I also bought 6 gb ram but sold it as I bought all this stuff before Sandy Bridge came out.

These kinda deals make me wish that I had just waited and bought a bundle. I still dont know if the 2nd hand PSU will be good or not.

I need a motherboard an i5 2500k and 4gb ram deal...oh and a graphics card

The CPU is the retail package so includes the fan/heatsink

If I needed one of these right now, I would add 4GB more RAM, a decent SSD and a decent GPU like the 6770 mentioned earlier. It would make a nice little PC....

Agreed.

They sold me a faulty motherboard with a blown capacitor, and once I returned it they then accused me of damaging it. After a lengthy phone call to some idiot they refused to send out a replacement or refund. A couple of weeks later once Barclaycard got in touch with them, I got a call from some indian woman offering a replacement and her sincerest apologies, i.e. Barclaycard are taking the money back and now Scan want to penetrate a certain orifice with their tongue in order to keep my business. Once I'd told them that I'd already received a board from Amazon, and repeatedly told them that I no longer needed one from Scan, the bitch began to make me out as the bad person, and claiming that it was rude of me to contact Barclaycard about the matter.

Absolute bonkers.

Worst company I've ever dealt with online tbh.

I think that if you have had a bad experience with a retailer it tends to be the first thing on your mind if you deal with them again and can have a bad effect even if they then do a good job i guess all of us have some bad time with one site or another comes down to finding the one thats rite for you and sticking with them till they make some sort of mistake or give you reason to think what a bunch of cowboys

look around and you may find that for a extra £50 you have the system built for you scan want £100 for that service but that has a osw but read up on what the on site gives you as there not all the same

hope its some help

I've heard a mixture of good and bad from scan but from my perspective it's been good. I've RMA'd twice and the only downside was postage cost. I like scan because of their scansure policy and free next day delivery.

I've yet to encounter a bad experience
