Price ok, but it's not gaming laptop with 950m and i7-U!

Its a desktop replacement not a dedicated gaming rig...jeez!

For the casual gamer it would be fine but yes you are right it won't beat a £1000+ dedicated gaming rig. Price wise, find me a better deal for the same spec...

Agree with this comment. I think the only graphics cards similar to desktop versions are this years versions so starting with 10.
Older generations like this, a 980M is the same performance as a desktop 960 or 970. Note laptops with dedicated graphics cards will also be heavy.

I would hardly call a geforce 950M the latest gen spec. It's possibly an okay price, but I think this might not be that well balanced. latest gen i5 with low end last gen mobile gpu?

Sorry can't understand anyone waiting to get an Acer unless it's free and they only need it for a year. Not voted eitherway but the U would rule it out too.

would rather have a decent desktop for a little bit more and easily upgradeable over time.

I think if you're replacing even an old-ish desktop with this, you might not see the performance bump you'd hope for.

Benchmark wise 7200u is comparable (slightly better than) say an i3-3250, which came out in 2013. I'm running an AMD FX-6300, which is about 4 years old, but a lot more powerful than a 7200u.

An important point is that 7200u use just 15W, compared to 55W for the i3 and 95W for my old 6300. And so if you want a laptop, this is decent. If not and you prefer performance, then get a desktop. :)
