I was going to say the same, there will be very little going on there after September. Although still a bargain price for a short break for anyone not bothered about the clubs etc.

half term is the week after...

if the clubs etc are shut at this time, would it be any good for a young family?

i cannot speak for ibiza, but did that last year (cos I don't like crowds or hot sun!) in turkey - and i just found the general atmosphere tired. all the staff were dying to get home and it was cloudy a few days.

I'm a resident of Ibiza and there is still plenty to do in October as long as you're not looking for the big named clubs. The weather is not too bad in October compared to the UK anyway :)

As to the person who said it was a cold ghost town, they obviously don't have a clue what they're talking about as it's still quite busy in October, obviously not to the extent of high season but for the price you can't go wrong IMO. Probably best to go into Ibiza Town if you want a night out but Ibiza is NOT all about clubbing, it's only the people who have never been who say that.

Heat added.

perhaps ibiza is more cosmopolitan than just a holiday "resort" so might be good ....

flights are cheap but everything else is a rip off. All drinks are like 3x UK price. Food is a rip. Activities are a rip. Even clubs are a rip

" Food is a rip" - really? Is that the case when on every street you will find a local restauarant serving a menu of the day which includes a starter, main dish, dessert, bread and a drink for 8 euros - 5 days a week!

Of course that's assuming you're not the type who travels across Europe to eat in Burger King and KFC"

Food and drink is extremely cheap over there! the only things that are expensive are clubs. Ibiza town is a really nice day out as well.

Indeed it is. A lot of money has been pumped into the Island over the past few years to bring its image up from the previous bad press it had meaning that we have some of the finest restaurants in Spain here not to mention some of the most stunning scenery you could hope for and so it is quickly becoming "the" place to own a property where the average price of a small villa is half a million euro even in the current climate.

Sure San An is dead during winter but then you wouldn't see many residents of the island there in Summer either so life very much goes on for the rest of the island all year round. The only downside we've found is the cheap direct flights to the UK stop after October so it is a pain to go visiting friends and family hence while I'm in the UK now and what you believe it it's hotter here than it is there :)

I think the main problem is we have too many armchair specialists who have seen Ibiza Uncovered on the telly or that other one on living channel and think they know it all :)

I went to Ibiza a couple of years ago and I actually hate clubbing, but I had a great time. I did get roped into a club, and it was about £40 to get in and a 330ml bottle or water was about £8! But outside of the clubs the price of food and drink is exceptional. I had the biggest mixed grille I have ever seen, coupled with a couple of pints of lager at a restaurant in San Antonio, just up the coast from Cafe Del Mar for about £9.50
The weather was perfect the whole time, and as long as you stay away from the blatant chav hotspots (Playa d'en Bossa was a bit rough when I went) then you have have a really nice, chilled holiday. It's worth it for the sunset alone! You can book a catamaran across to Formenterra for a reasonable price and get unlimited BBQ and beer on the boat and spend the day on a different part of Ibiza. I could go on all day!
Wish I could go back again
