Blame the papers for creating an almost non existent shortage into panic buying.

Salad shortage is a blessing. There has never been a shortage of anything that has affected me less.

BTW my green grocer said that the shortage was complete bow locks!!!

Tabloids create the hysteria. Gullible public fall for it & start buying in bulk because that's what sheep do.

That leads to inevitable shortages in the shops.

I mean, how will anyone survive without lettuce for a week or 2?

Got to look below the surface of the "iceberg" to see the full story! Completely cold this one!! False news!!

I had a chuckle when I read the supermarkets were restricting you to 3 lettuces - now we eat quite a bit of lettuce, but come on, who's buying 3 at a time or more??

Being rich is to have something that someone else is actually willing to pay or exchange other goods with you.

As Lidl will find out when they have to write off loads of icebergs across their shops that nobody bought.

The broccolis in Waitrose were marked down on yellow sticker today, they had loads, me thinks this veg crisis is just a marketing ploy.

Was just gonna comment that it kinda made me nostalgic for the different rumoured food shortages every week. I remember my mum having to go and stock up on things that were gonna be scarce, and then never actually seemed to be. Saying that, choice was a bit more basic then. Now- who cares, there'll always be an alternative.
