Hello, I was in Iceland today and bought one of the whole roast ducks reduced from £6 to £3, its one of the 'ready roasts' they do and the box is quite big! I think this was specifically for xmas, I also bought the rack of lamb in redcurrant sauce reduced from £10 to £5,. I thought someone might be interested as they seem to be really good quality, and half price cant be bad!

i.e ice cream bombs, joints, some ice crem and in my store sausage meat.

It's basically to clear room in the cold store after christmas.

I want crispy roast duck for tea now :?

Delia has a really good method for fast roasting - works brilliantly with fresh Gressingham duck. Clean and rinse in boiling water to soften surface fat, Poke* the skin with a fork all over to allow the fat under the skin to drain out whilst cooking. Roast the bird on a high heat on a rack. Remove the drained fat half-way through cooking. Yummy!

*swear-word filter circumvention :p

Hugh would charge £20 but his ducks would have had a more active life.

dont be silly it would be £35 and the duck lived 3 weeks more. so thats over a £10 a week extra. its all about profit with hugh and jamie so dont bother saying anything about them. thats why no one in the program could afford to go to his shop.

Why does everyone think the duck is only for sale during Christmas period??It has always been there!!

The duck has been in the Iceland Stores for quite a while for £6.I have been getting it regularly for the past...(i don't know)...years.I hope they still sell it after the 'clearance'.

Since they are reduced to £3,I bought about 6 ducks.... :)

What my family does is, we steam it. it is actually very very nice.

Alternative method:use the skin to make the pancake thing and the meat to stir-fry with some veg! Two dishes, less than £5!!!

And duck meat (not the skin) is more healthy than beef (according to World Health Organisation).
