Guys expect a good holiday but prepare for the worse... Never go for a hotel with mix reviews.
The reviews are so mixed on this hotel, cleanliness and food seem to be an issue!
Good price for a week all inclusive. Reviews on trip advisor are a bit mixed. It always makes me wonder how people can have such differing views of the same hotel.

Yeah, was going to say the same... if you've had it confirmed at this price, then great - otherwise there's a good chance the agent will just make up the prices as they go along when you phone.

I saw one for £130 all inclusive in Crete for Aug school holidays. Rung them up and the price jumped to £970 for the 4 of us! Still not a bad price in fairness for a week all-in, but significantly more than they were advertising!!

Can't knock £970 all in wish I could find a deal like that in August

That was a really cruddy hotel!

If you're happy to fly Ryanair and not especially fussy where you go, you'll have no problem finding something. Try looking at the last week or two of August, flying from Edinburgh or Prestwick, we've got a short list of about a dozen decent holidays for under £1000, plus a few that are quite luxurious for £1200-1500.

It won't usually be 7 nights in the hotel they will book you on the night that you leave and early morning return so you get 5 nights in hotel so please be carefull also there would be baggage allowance n traveling cost per person not cost per car so they recoup some money back like that so please ask question carefully
Great site u jst hav to remember that Theyv stil to add baggage allowance & sometimes transfers but that's to be expected if not mentioned!
rubbish site never the price when u ring
I too am looking for a cheapy and this could suit, however, I called that number on ice lolly about another deal I had seen to Turkey, advertised at 189pp AI for 8 nights but the phone operator had to check "live flight information" and came back with the same deal I'd seen but for £330! he was quite helpful and looked about a bit for me, toying with dates and stuff so.... I'd be VERY interested to hear if anyone gets this holiday at the price currently on screen. thanks in advance!
I thought it was expensive until I read that it was for a couple. Anyone not realising will probably vote it cold.

I am actually going to this hotel on the 26th of may for one week all inclusive. paid £800 for me and two children 13years and 11 through icelolly. im not looking forward to it. ive watched the holiday uncovered and read the reviews I've never been so unhappy to be going away and im not a snob you get what you pay for but these reviews are shocking :-(

I phoned them up this morning trying to get the total price for our group as price looked really attractive but, they count 3 year old as an adult, and for my 8 month baby they wanted £60 lol.
Most airlines class children from 3 years old as adult price because they take up a seat...it's only 2 years & under that receive a discount because they sit on an adults lap & do not take up a seat of their own.

No offence, but surely a 3 year old takes up a whole seat on the plane which is where the vast majority of this cost will come from? Surely you weren't expecting 4 seats and all that for £368?

Flight will be with Ryanair from East Midlands to Barcelona El Prat flying out on the 7th, return 14th - £65.98

Which means they're getting the hotel for £77pp. I can only find that hotel as All Inclusive for £114pp, so they're either getting it half price, or they're lying!

Very surprised you have managed to get that price. Icelolly are best used for 'working out' the cheapest place to get, then booking independently. I have never managed to get the price quoted, and have on a few times been told that 'yes that price is correct' then out of nowhere the price jumps up once you are into the booking process.

But if you can get it great deal!

I thought that, but OP says he rang to confirm price. I however cannot find flights alone at that price wow

Give them a ring for yourself.I don't post deals that do not exist . just because you are unable to find it for that price does that mean its incorrect

The 'deal' price is specifically from Manchester on 1st Jun 2014.
If you are going to alter a deal introduction, it is ettiquette and common courtesy to let the OP know you have done so by PM.

People find deals, honestly, and post them in good faith. Discussions take place and people also put their own comments down. Many have been negative, which is fair enough, its what the sites about. Please do not alter my postings or anyone elses, come to that, without letting the poster now. It is a total abuse of your position.

Thank you

If you are going to post a deal introduction, it is ettiquette and common courtesy to let HUKD readers know the full details, including any specific restrictions without relying on other posters to highlight the limitations of such a deal.

..."The 'deal' price is specifically from Manchester on 1st Jun 2014. There may be others available, certainly worth a search.

Anyone else find this deal price to this location at any other time and/or departing from any other airport?

Manchester is a long way to travel to even start the holiday. I would hate to have discovered it was available from a more local airport to us.

Well, actually I wouldn't bank on that on the Caribbean. Been to many many places there (on business) and I absolutley detest the place. There isn't one place I'd ever want to go back to. Stick to just the tourist areas and you'll probably love it but we like exploring off the beaten track. Thailand and Malaysia are still my favourites but if hubby wasn't battling cancer, I'd have given this a go for the money, even if I'd bought a couple of bottle of vodka to top up the drinks lol

Been to Mexico twice, Cuba twice and Dominican once and all of them have provided better service and facilities than what we got in Tunisia.
School holiday periods put paid to travelling that far east, as I don't think July is the best time to visit these places. Need to wait until the kids are a little older and don't want to go on holiday with us anymore!!!
Good luck to your husband and his battle, as I've just had to endure similar myself. Caught early enough, by sheer fluke, and had an op in April to remove tumour. Last scan in September showed all clear for now. As I say, good luck and fingers crossed.

no one can force you to stay at the hotel. it's not a prison
goombahxxx
Just back from here a few weeks ago, only cheap until you want to eat and drink!!!

Whilst I agree that Cyprus is not cheap to eat out...most places have a specials board that has one or two options that are on offer. Lots of places to eat in Napa, lots of competition for restaurant owners...especially in september when it quietens down a tad.

Ive stayed at these apartments a few years ago and they are very basic but clean. Decent pool and a bus stops outside the apartments that goes to Napa (10 mins)...we got a week pass for 10 euros...no doubt its gone up now but still excellent value.

Makronissos beach just a 10 minute walk too which is a lovely white sand beach with crystal clear waters.

Good price - just need to keep a watch on some of the possible additional costs such as inflight meals, luggage allowance, charge for using your credit card, transfers, taxes....
Not sure who you fly with, but if it's cubana think carefully.
Stayed at this very hotel a few months back and it's well recommended.

I was looking at holidays on IceLolly this week. Every company I rang wanted to charge an extra £20-£25 per person as a "booking fee" then they couldn't find the flight so changed the price dramatically, or they claimed it was a cancelation that had been booked so the price had gone up. They lied through their teeth. Some of the hotels listed on Icelolly (I was looking at Kos) aren't even open during the week I was ringing up to book but they were still listed and the companies still offered to book me in.

IceLolly isn't a scam but nearly every company that are listed on there are. Whats more when you look at the reviews by some of the people that have booked through these companies, trust be you will be glad you didn't book!
I'm not having ago or argue the fact with you. I have dealt with them before, and they miss lead the true price

Very good price considering that flights are included.

They are going from Manchester though which is pretty much the worst major airport in Europe these days because it's the only one with mandatory backscatter machines.

How have you arrived at that conclusion? I can only assume you have flown from every major European airport?!

I've flown from Manchester many times without issue, and find it to be a perfectly acceptable airport.

It's also nice to see some deals aimed at us backward Northerners. I know we're not as sophisticated and intelligent as Southerners, but the odd one or two of us hold a passport and occasionally enjoy a sunny break!

I've flown from there many times but it is the only airport in Europe (and in fact the world) with compulsory body scanner machines which is why I try to avoid it these days even if it means a bit of a detour since I live in Manchester.

They scrapped the body scanner machines in October (I did wonder what a back scatter machine was!) and you only go through the new 'privacy-friendly' scanners if you trigger the metal detector and fail the pat down by security.

Thanks I didn't actually know that.
there is a small man-made beach the north side of st julian, if you go down "the steps" (as its known) where the nightclubs are, turn right, and its just a few metres away... st julians is the hub for night life (cinemas, clubs, restaurants, bars, etc). parking is not easy, under the hilton is probably best, tho not cheap.
they basically pretend that the price will have changed because the flight price or hotel price has changed since the website was last updated. by the way martinjp, the lovely indian person she spoke to will continue to call your wife trying to sell her a holiday if she didn't book it.

There's only three decent hotels in Kolimbia - Two Atlantica Properties and The Holiday Village, other than that the town is a total dive...

yeah i was in the Atlantic imperial resort 2 months ago, by far one of the best hotels i have stayed in, except, as you said, the town is pretty run down, as is most of Rhodes it seams, i wasnt a huge fan of the area lol.

Found out that the transfer from my last holidays in Greece was more expensive than taking a cab and it took almost 2 hours as the coach goes around picking people up!
All the "extras" kill off these deals.
You'll also find its a cheap airline like Ryanair.
There will be £12 per passenger per flight government fees.
£36 credit card fee.
The price has gone up because Ryanair charge more as the flight fills.
I done one last week with Icelolly to Ibiza.
Advertised at £114 ended up paying £764 for 4 passengers so £191 each.
Thats with no hold luggage that can hit you for £40 per bag.

BillyBits
Add on £40 per bag, transfers at around £15 per person, all the hidden charges that travel agencies make you pay, and you're looking at £250+ easy.

The price stated online is nowhere near what you'll actually pay. Always add £100-£150 on top of the price quoted to get the real one.

Thought this was a rather fantastic price for 7 nights, All Inclusive, and for a nice change it's a northern airport; most of the holiday deals I find are from southern airports. The Hotel Blue Sea…

as above has good reviews to, so prob ok,and sounds about right for 3 star hotel, mainly german resort so standerds should be better
I have been holidaying near Cala Ratjada for 15 years as my parents have a house there. The resort is German so not many English about (probably a good thing), but the area is fantastic. Many beaches near by, part of a protected national park and no yobs! You can't go wrong. Local beaches to try are Cala Mesquida, Calla Agulla and Cala Gat. Alcudia is about 30-40 mins away in a car if you want to take a trip out.
I think the thing with trip advisor is that to stand out, you have to offer an amazing service. So if you stayed at an incredible hotel, you'd want to leave a good review on tripadvisor. If you stayed at an average hotel (like this), the only real push for you to leave a review would be if it was really bad. Hence, a lot of bad reviews.

I've always found if you read a few comments on trip advisor from people saying something along the lines of - ignore all the negative reviews - they are right. You'll always get the snobs or those used to high quality holidaying bashing the cheap all inclusive services.
