With the IDE and SATA to USB 2.0 Adapter you can turn any IDE and SATA drive into a fast, convenient external drive, where you can copy and store data quickly and securely. The hi-speed USB interface ensures fast, easy installation particularly when combined with the adapter's user-friendly plug and play technology. But that my friend is not all. The feature which catapults this adapter sky high above its competitors is the one touch backup button. Simply press the large circular button on the adapter and all your work and data files will automatically be backed up. You can even back up data from your SATA and 2.5" hard drive at the same time!

Looks good, does the one touch backup button copy from one drive to another without a PC? I sense it's probably a button which triggers software on the host PC but would be great if it could clone by itself.

Thanks for the link.

Pressing the oval button on the IDE Sata Driver interface box launches the Fnet PCclone Ex Lite software on the host PC. Every time the backup button is pressed, any source files, selected using the PCclone software, will be copied to the designated drive connected to the IDE Sata Driver interface.

So it is software based but still for some people this would be very useful.

I wouldn't want to use this to make any old drive into an external device; I'd rather put it in a proper case (SVP have some for about £15). But for data recovery this is pretty decent.
