Could be better 01 October 2008

"Bought without checking phone out first. The handset is too small for comfort and the settings are too involved, eg to switch on/off the answer machine there are about 8 button presses, compared to my last phone which had one."

Slightly disappointing 15 September 2008

"A good looking , light phone, fits neatly into the hand. Nice loud ring..
Display sometimes difficult to read against deep blue background.
Menu rather complicated. After several weeks, I still need to refer the instruction booklet to delete a massage on the answering machine.
Not easy to replace handset on base.
On the whole, I would not recommend this phone, particularly to older users due to its small size and difficulty in reading the display screen"

Please DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THESE PHONES they are the pits!

We bought them as a twin set as did my friend and we have both ended up binning them. When you try to dial out it quite often wont. They are really temperamental and very hard work. If you need to make a call in a hurry these are not good phones - sometimes you have to try five or six times and then suddenly it will do what you ask it to.

A TOTAL WASTE OF MONEY GUYS

Disagree with last comment. I've had an iDect for a couple of years. I use it for maybe 3-4 hours a day. Good range, good quality, good battery life. I have no complaints.

OK I'll add my 2p worth...

Bought one a few weeks ago and ended up taking it back as the speakerphone was terrible (the only reason I wanted another phone) - so quiet it was almost impossible to use.

On the plus side, if you're not going to use the speakerphone then I had no other issues with it - the range, battery life, looks are all top notch. If you have big fingers the small keys may be an issue, but not unuseable.

I've had the twin pack without voice mail for a long time and have had no problems.

Thanks for pointing... expiring.

Rubbish phone, bought one from Asda and had it replaced twice, the last one gave up just over 12 months after I bought the original. When it was working the speaker would cut in and out randomly so I would have to constantly ask everyone who called to repeat themselves and the answer machine menu is a total pain to use too. I'd avoid. Nice looking though.

I am SO annoyed at this, i saw this online last night, got so excited cos i love the look of the phone and have been after one for ages, went to check out, free delivery via sim card method, then found out they don't accept electron, rang to see if they do over the phone, guy told me yes, so was ultra happy again, then he decided to listen and say no we can't. So planned on going into store to put money on gift card, but now expired....GUTTED!!!!!!!!! :x

Got the twin pack of these in Asda a few months ago....no probs with them at all.

Dead easy to hear answerphone messages, just hold the 0 button to access the answerphone!

A scrolling menu to save/delete messages - is that difficult?

The only issue I can see is how long the batteries last as new ones are nearly as expensive as new phones.

Just a little warning, I bought a pair of these phones in silver and they have been the worst phones we've had.

The base unit for the 2nd hanset became faulty almost straight away, so we just used to alternate the 2 on the base unit, but then after about 6 months the battery life became very very poor. Even if left on charge for over a day, you would get maybe 20 mins use out of it. No good if your on hold and the time is even less if you use loudspeaker, so basically you can't use it.

The ear piece sound volume doesn't turn up enough and the phones menus arn't the the easiest to use and not many options.

Won't be buying these particular idect phone again.

The one upside to them, they look nice - but it doesnt make me change my mind about replacing them.
