good price but the phone is not so good. Ive had one for about 6 months and on about every other phone call I get an echo on the line. Its not my line as the previous phone was ok.

Might have been unlucky - I bought the black twin-pack a few months ago when it appeared here as a deal for Empire Stores - not the best phone in the world but I've had no problems with call clarity. Might be worth taking/sending back as faulty.

Yes, Just use this base as a charger, and pair this new handset to your existing base station

Note: This phone is made by Binatone.....

Having said that, I have a couple of them under the Tesco Finest guise. Been using them for about a year without any complaints. Mind you, Tesco were selling them for £150 with a DAB radio alarm clock.. Not worth anywhere near that, but as Tesco gave it to me under the defunct R&R policy, I've got no complaints!

Have got it for the exact same reason!

Have ordered it as an extra handset, never get to the phone in time before the answer machine kicks in!

Agree! I got mne through a hotukdeal on empire stores and I can't complain for the price - this is even cheaper! Maybe not the best DECT phone out there - but at this price, its a bargain!

Did you manage to fix your problem? If so how? Did you change the settings on your wireless modem or something?

I ask because i have a binatone dect phone which is having problems in that sometimes i just hear weird noise (like a 56k modem connecting) or sometimes no dialtone at all, i thought it was a fault so i'm about to send it back as it's only about a month old -- maybe my modems causing the problem?

Sounds like they are both operating on a similar frequency. I am guessing your internet is not cable and is ADSL; go into your router setup page and change the channel - Default will be 11 or 6, fiddle around here and find a setting that satisfies both phone and router.

I picked up the DAB radio alarm clock with 2xphone from Tesco a couple of weeks ago for 50gbp.

It's alright but setting the alarm is not user friendly at all and the display is brighter than the Eddystone lighthouse, not good for the bedroom, with no way of dimming it.
