good shout, I ordered from saverstore and they've charged my credit card but still not entirely sure about them...

You will have a few weeks to wait even with Play.com : "Pre-order. Due for release on 02/02/2009". Don't forget those quidco etc opportunities

savastore/saverstore are certainly not to be trusted, dont care how cheap they are. Good price for a 24" panel.

You can get a dvi>hdmi lead very cheaply = no loss of quality, but since dvi doesn't carry sound you will need speakers connected to your desktop.. which I asume you already have.

hi

HDMI and DVI are electronically exact replicas, only HDMI has enforced HDCP and sound, in other words, its the better connection option to have. Any HDMI/DVI adapter or cable will work perfectly and a HDMI - DVI cable is in fact how mine is setup. Text is crystal clear and perfectly sharp over HDMI, it really is a sight to behold, the resolution bump over my previous 1366x768 screen makes Vista a pleasure to work with. Having two Word documents or webpages open side by side is great for productivity.

I honestly can't stress enough how leased I am with mine, it looks really smart as well, for £140 its a no brainer, stonking value.

The monitor has a 3.5mm input for sound if you can't get it through the HDMI cable but the speakers are pretty terrible, like all monitor speakers, so you wouldn't want to be using them anyway.

H&R left - Iiyama really are top monitors, and this is a great price.

Check this out, but beware as pre-order!!! :-

Are the good Benqs, iiyamas, viewsonics and dells etc all banging and sloshing about in the hull of a transporter ship?

savastore are total cowboys, as said
they once tried to fob me off back when I bought the latest gen (at the time) graphics card with one that was worth over 150 quid less....twice

since then I wouldn't touch them with somebody else's barge pole

LOL I received some media this week from Play and I'd written it off long ago as unlikely to arrive but I didn't realise until I looked at the receipt that the order had been placed on 1 October....

Speedy they aren't often.

Most places now seem to be advertising this at around the £180 mark with stock expected 22 January on the ones I checked.

The difference with Play of course is the free delivery - around £10 other places.

Good vfm price mainly because it uses the usual cheap TN type panel.

Some manufacturers quoted response times can be a bit misleading, depending on how they are measured - either will be fine :)

HDCP stands for a protocol called High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection [a bit like Macrovision you used to get on VCRs] Basically, if you don't have HDCP compliance, then you wouldn't be able to view content on Blu-Rays/HD DVDs.

first post lol are you the managing director of savastore or just a sales manager, either way pretty pathetic to make up so much ****, to coin a local phrase:

"Do you think I came up the Foyle in a bubble?"------- only a select few will know what this means, the rest can google if they want lol

:p

SS is so stupid

i cancelled the order 3 times and they still manage to bill me and send me the monitor

great another hassle

PEOPLE stay away from these and spend extra 2-3 quid from a better company
#28
savastore are pure **** stains, ordered Wednesday morning as said on website IN STOCK, expecting delivery today. waited in nothing, then emailed them around 4pm got a reply out of stock.... what a bunch of A$$ holes, would've gone elsewhere if they couldnt delivered.

hope you savastore employees/MD are reading this.
