Steer clear if you want warranties

Seriously mate, how many people do you think have ever claimed on a warranty for a freaking extension cable?
In any case your point is moot, fascin8 were an importer, not the manufacturer or retailer, and as such would not have been responsible for warranties in any case. You have a one year warranty from the retailer (zavvi/the hut in this case) - if anything goes wrong with the cable and the retailer is unable to repair or replace the item, they would be obligated to give you a refund.

Surprising then why manufacturers such as Masterplug offer x amount of equipment warranty coverage with their range of extension cables......guess your marketing expertise is wiser hmm?

Whether people claim or not from an extension cable, you want faith in a product that you plug a variety of somewhat expensive devices into (unless of course you are buying tevion, ikasu or any dealextreme.com chinese stuff into).

Yes, warranties do lie with the retailer, expect in the case of Aldi who attempt to break the law after 28 days by palming you onto the helpline...some of which were supplied by Fascin8 for their "Tevion" stuff, and whom offered the 3 year warranty before they went into receivership.

If something did go wrong with the cable, such as equipment damage, I think it would be interesting to say the least even attempting to track down the original manufacturer, seeing these are all rebranded cables from chinese manufacturers aplenty as listed on the likes of alibaba.com, and no doubt getting further compensation from Hut retailer group on more than the refund of cost of the extension cable would involve a small claims court case.

Places like Home Bargains regularly have offers on Masterplug extension cables for about £10, I sooner would put more faith in those than buy anything from an importer that has now gone into receivership, regardless of where the warranty lies.

Like it or not, I was just stating the facts that Fascin8 the supplier of these have gone into receivership, and did offer warranty replacements, spares and services...so were not just the importer.
